Healing isn’t always a straight line, and sometimes, the very tools meant to help us can keep us stuck. In this powerful first episode of Mind Amendment, we sit down with Trish Caldwell, Senior Vice President of Clinical Services at Promises Behavioral Health, to unpack what’s really missing in traditional approaches to mental health and addiction recovery. With decades of experience, Trish shares how standard therapy models, especially in inpatient settings, can fall short of creating lasting change. Through honest and insightful conversation, Trish explores how brain development, trauma, and emotional regulation shape our ability to heal. She challenges the idea that hope alone is enough, and invites us to rethink how we define true progress in recovery. Whether you’re a mental health professional or simply someone searching for a new way forward, this episode offers a refreshingly honest look at what healing really takes. Stay tuned for part two, where we’ll explore practical tools and strategies for lasting transformation. __________________ Follow/Watch/Listen/Subscribe: Instagram: @mindamendment YouTube: @mindamendment Facebook: @mindamendment Website: https://www.mindamendment.com __________________ Get Help: Promises Behavioral Health – mental health, trauma & addiction treatment Insta: @promises_bh Website: https://www.promisesbehavioralhealth.com __________________ Cast: Patrick Custer - Host Insta:@thepatrickcuster Tiktok: @thepatrickcuster YouTube: @thepatrickcuster Facebook: @thepatrickcuster __________________ About Trish Caldwell: Trish Caldwell, MFT, LPC, CCDP-D, CAADC, CCTP, is an experienced national Senior Vice President of Clinical Operations for Promises Behavioral Health.
