A. A. Parr is a writer, artist and entrepreneur who calls both Sault Ste. Marie and Toronto home. She holds a Specialised Honours BFA from York University in Theatre (Devised Ensemble Creation; Playwriting) with a double minor in Psychology and Cultural Studies. She is also the Founder and Managing Editor of Type A Media.

Her poetry series written for and about strangers, “I Wrote You This Poem”, is published weekly on Channillo.com, and she is the author of the poetry chapbook, “What Lasts Beyond the Burning”, from Nightingale & Sparrow Press. Her creative works have been seen on stages, in galleries, and in print throughout North America over the past two decades. In her work, she seeks to explore difficult themes in an attempt to shine a necessary light into our darkest crevices.

Type A Media is a new small press and indie literary publisher in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, established with an aim to publish fresh, diverse voices in poetry, creative non-fiction, flash fiction, visual arts, cultural think pieces, and hybrid creative works from Northern Ontario and beyond.

Lily Kangas is a fibre artist, elementary school teacher and author. She lives with her husband, Chuck, and their five fabulous fur kids - Rascal, Roxy, Finnegan, Lila and Charlotte. She enjoys writing the funny stories about her dogs.

Upon retiring from teaching Lily entered a new career as a writer. Lily is still teaching, this time through her writing as a children's book author. Her love of rhyme and poetic structure are central to the messaging that Lily publishes.

The books are illustrated by Lily, using Canva. Her books are self published under Lily Garden Books.

Duncan Fremlin’s new book My Good Times with Stompin’ Tom features over 35 stories, some crazy, others outrageous, but all true. They’re behind the scene antics from his 25-year friendship with Stompin’ Tom. There are road stories, studio stories and hangin’ out stories. Duncan has played four decades plus with Whiskey Jack, performing their unique brand of Canadian country music coast to coast. In the 1980’s, they were featured weekly on CBC TV’s Tommy Hunter Show. Watching the Whiskey Jack segment (The Ol’ Back Porch) every Friday night, a retired Stompin’ Tom Connors would become an avid Whiskey Jack fan, enjoying the humour and the amazing musicianship, along with 2 million of his fellow Canadians. When Stompin’ Tom resumed his career after 13 years away, he called Whiskey Jack and invited them to join him in the studio to record his acclaimed album, “Dr. Stompin’ Tom… Eh?”. These two Canadian musical institutions would continue to perform and record often together until Tom’s death in 2014. Those years with Stompin’ Tom were the seeds that blossomed into the show they tour with today, Stories & Songs of Stompin’ Tom.
