    Is TikTok banned yet? Big movement to XiaoHongShu, or at least some comments about the platform being better than FB and Insta. Those other platforms won’t be going away any time soon, though, cause they can monetize, XHS doesn’t. Off to the Military Museum - not bad. Lots of big equipment, no cafe or many places to sit down. What did we learn? China got invaded a bunch of times. Spent most of the day editing videos! Morning workout: -25 minutes on the bike -then four rounds of: kettle bell walks, hip adduction and abduction, single leg hamstring curls dips, pull ups. Afternoon: 6.51 km in 44.38, then four rounds of 40 double under, 10 bench jumps, 5 one arm push ups each side, 5 assisted pistol squats each side. Russian done: 20 minutes reading, 16 minutes conjugating, 30 minutes listening. Getting easier. Chinese: only podcast listening.     Trying out the mic with the QuickTime, but the Notes application won’t use the Shure MV7+ as input. How did it all sound yesterday? This new MacBook is rather bass-y. Workout in, but barely! 7.02km in 1 hr 6 min 56 sec. 54 pull ups total, double that for push ups, triple for squats. Felt rough the entire time… like just slow. No deadlifts as I had an idea… to go to Tianjin, but then I realized I had no room on my cameras. Sooo… had to transfer footage. But this does go along the lines of my adventure travel videos. Thinking… what else could I do? Why Tianjin? Well, the latest vlog I posted, someone suggested I should just get on the train and go somewhere. Tianjin’s the closest. Reading DuZhe 读者, a magazine for students or young people. I guess it’s one of those “wholesome” publications that tries to instil good ideas in people’s heads rather than others (eg, comics).     Have you stopped writing 2024 yet? Very quiet in Beijing these days. Are schools out already? Working on a cheat sheet for Mandarin, is it okay to teach Mandarin Chinese? New language vlog up: Time for a change? - All about considering a job change… but does that mean a change of country, too? Here’s the difference of jet lag: -in Canada, you fall asleep at 8pm but there’s no more real “business” to be done at that time other than see some people, who could probably meet earlier in the day. -in China, if I fall asleep at 8pm then that takes out all the evening chatter that can’t be done during the work day.     New year, new week! New jet lag! Up early and off to Tiananmen Square… then the camera died. Bald and Bankrupt?! WTF? This guy posts a video every now and then and has MILLIONS of followers on YouTube, and a book on HOW TO make it on YouTube?! Wow. I must be doing something wrong. Managed to get some reading done this morning, 30 minutes of Russian, an hour of Chinese, both DuChinese and Wen Cheng. Yep… did NOT publish an episode this past weekend because… I’ve been falling asleep at 8 pm. XiaoHongShu a poppin’… where is this all going? Apparently there is a Chinese guy who reviews products by simply saying “Good”, “No good,” “Only Two Dollars”. Again, I must be doing something wrong.     Kinda quiet around town, why so early? Might have to re-evaluate the comments I made earlier about the pule being gone. Is it just the holiday season? But where did all the people go so soon? Up at 2.30 in the morning! Two hours later than yesterday. So, am I moving in two hour increments? Chinese Course by Email continues, adding video components to it. I can see that I have to stick with this so I can add it to my Buy Me A Coffee site at the end of the month. Stonk market a fail-oh?
