For the last 10+ years, Brian has pursued his dream of becoming an independent, professional, and recognized barber in the Ventura/LA county area. After years of hard work and sacrifice, Brian now owns his own studio parlour and barbering business named “Bcuttery”, located in Simi Valley, CA. But Brian’s story doesn’t begin there. When he was in college, Brian was worried and unsure of what the future might hold for him. But while completing his GE courses, Brian started getting recognized by his peers for the haircuts he’d give himself, and it was at that moment that Brian realized… he had a gift.

Music has almost always been a part of Edgar’s life. From taking his guitar with him everywhere he went in high school, to performing one of his hit songs live at the New Scotland Yard Pub in Canoga Park, CA, Edgar’s passion for music speaks for itself. In this episode, Edgar shares with us how his love for music first started, who his role models were, how the people he surrounded himself with eventually led him down the wrong path, and how music and his guitar has always saved him from complete darkness. Today, Edgar plays as an instrumentalist, music producer, and is in other words, a “One Man Band” who’s dream is to one day play his music live on stage for Coachella!

Alfonso is a great example of an up-and-coming successful man who came from nothing. Today, Alfonso is engaged to the woman of his dreams and lives in a beautiful new home in Southern California. Julio is a DACA recipient who came to America when he was only 2 years old and was raised in Sacramento, CA (AKA Sactown). Today, Julio works as a middle school teacher in Oakland, CA after graduating from UC Santa Cruz as a Political Theory major. Did I mention he recently graduated with his Masters degree too? Julio loves his community and does his best to always play his part in it. He and his partner coach a youth soccer team, play soccer with their community when they can, and last but certainly not least, Julio displays a very open-minded and philosophical mindset and is always willing to dive deeper into controversial topics when challenged. He truly is a unique character!

Navid was born and raised in Tehran, Iran his entire life. Last year, Navid built up the courage to make a life changing decision and moved to the United States (California). Since then, Navid has experienced a tremendous culture shock in America and our way of life. Navid was forced to leave his wife and family in Iran in order to create a life for himself in the states and, eventually, bring his wife and family to live here in America with him. Today, Navid works as a District Sales Manager in the auto industry and continues to accustom himself to American culture while simultaneously working hard every day to reunite with his family here in the great state of California!

Justin is a young man who has experienced tremendous hardship early on in his childhood/teenage life. At one point, Justin felt lost, confused, and purposeless. He was at his lowest point. One day, the Holy Spirit spoke to him through a close friend of his, and brought him home to the Church. What Justin experienced during his search for salvation in the Lord Jesus Christ was hard for him to put into words, but what the Lord had done for his life speaks for itself. Today, Justin is a baptized Christian, a volunteer for his Church's kids ministry, a college graduate, an avid gym-goer, and is currently pursuing his dream to join California's law enforcement in order to better serve his community!
