These actions can range from counseling, written reprimand, suspension, termination, to indictment and anywhere in between. If you're new, you may be getting misguided by some veterans. If you are in an agency with a poor culture, it may be the norm to bend or break rules. Don't be a victim to the game.

We've all heard that it's a marathon and not a sprint. When I was 25, all I could think was what an old person thing to say that is. Hopefully this episode will keep you from getting fired or indicted for trying to run too fast before you know what you're doing. Hopefully it will keep you from dying young because of your choices. Traffic stops are the meat and potatoes of most proactive patrol officers. Let's accept that we can all get better and we don't have it down to an exact science. I hope that some seasoned professionals or motivated rookies drop me some tips that I can add to a more advanced version of this podcast.

Let's get better at traffic stops so that we are not constantly stopping and searching the innocent, so that we are spotting the guilty, and consistently catching the criminals that are victimizing our neighborhoods.
