The Rehabilitation Act of 1973 was a key early law, prohibiting discrimination based on disability in federal programs. More recently, the ADA Amendments Act of 2008 expanded protections, clarifying and broadening the definition of disability to ensure greater inclusion and support for individuals with disabilities.
