Coping skills are the tools that we use to deal with unwanted or negative emotions and experiences in our lives. They can be good, bad or neutral. In todays episode I share my coping skills and how I tell if they're positive negative or neutral. As well show to stop basing your own coping skills and goals off of the infinite number of ways we are told are the best online. This week I gave you some homework! Make a list of every coping skill you can think of. From as simple as eating or taking a shower to as specific as meditation. Go through the list and label them + for positive - for negative or no symbol for neutral. Rewrite the negative ones and why they are unhelpful and choose which as hindering you the most if you have many. Otherwise write the details of why and your plan to change them or remove them. Same with positive ones! Write why they help and or add new positives and your SMART goals of how you plan to achieve the top one.
