Special Guest: Author & Poet, Tonee Shelton

  • サマリー

  • This is an episode that's chicken soup for the SOUL! So many valuable insights, truth bombs, and gold nuggets of wisdom - It feels like a warm bowl of poetry, comedy, therapy, and story time all wrapped up in one. Tonee Shelton is a social worker, author, poet, facilitator and conversationalist. Having been a spoken word artist for over a decade, Tonee loves creating spaces of belonging for professionals, leading groups and facilitating panels of all sizes. One of Tonee's strongest suits is illustrating the intersection of art and equity, using her poetry to get people to think critically about diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging. She has successfully published two volumes of poetry, "In Search of Freedom" (2021) and "Identity Crisis" (2022), both which amplify and narrate the experiences of marginalized and oppressed people. She has works published in Interfaith magazine, and contributes to her blog, In Search of Freedom, created when Tonee was pursuing her Masters in Social Work.
