Today on Soft Chaos we have artists Bryan Senti and Dom Bouffard, sharing the story behind their new collaborative album Killing Horizon. Bryan is a Bafta-winning, first generation Latin American composer and producer who has worked extensively with Rufus Wainwright, Dustin O'Halloran, and scores of others. He's an artist in his own right with a mesmerizing album out called Manu. Dom is a London-born, Anglo French-Algerian guitarist, composer and interdisciplinary artist who has collaborated with Lou Reed, Coco Rosie and Budgie, and also works broadly in the theater and dance worlds — most notably with famed director Robert Wilson.
We talk through their initial meeting on a Robert Wilson production in Berlin, the story behind how their new album Killing Horizon came to be, along with its non-musical inspiration rooted in the works of Cormac McCarthy and Lars Von Trier. We also delve into the technical, exploring the great lengths that went into creating the vast and compelling musical landscapes that make up this incredible new album. Bryan and Dom are engagingly thoughtful and forthcoming about their work and their inspiration, and I hope you enjoy the conversation.
