We kickoff the New Year talking to a Lancashire legend – Chris ’Noddy’ Dearden
We begin by establishing why Chris is known to many people in the cricket world as ‘Noddy’ and then talk about his early days playing for Littleborough in the Central Lancashire League rubbing shoulders with teammates who included Sir Garfield Sobers and Joel Garner
Chris has had an illustrious Lancashire Seniors cricket career representing the county’s O50s/60s in excess of 130 times, scoring lots of runs and taking many wickets.
Chris made his debut for England O60s in 2019 and was part of the squad for the O60s World Cup in Chennai in the early part of 2024.
Struggling with an Achilles injury he missed out on the 2024 summer series against Pakistan and the winter tour to Australia but he's keen to return to full fitness and as a consequence the England squad.
In the next episode we talk about fitness for O60s /O70s cricketers with England O60s Osteopath Paolo Iorio
In future episodes we’ll be covering the new O60s/70s website, the competition structures (when all are known) for 2025 and we’ll be monitoring the NZ v Australia O60s series in March with the help of friend of the show Tony Panecasio. Lots to look forward to!
