Are you a woman in your late 30s, 40s, 50s who feels like your life needs a major reinvention, but you’re feeling stuck and unsure where to start? (And maybe worried that the life you really want is a little too “unconventional” and it’s a little too late to pursue it?)

Welcome to the She Reinvented podcast!

---

In my own quest to reinvent and redesign all aspects of my life (after a major burnout in my 40s), I’m talking to women who transformed their own lives - well over the age of 35.

---

From quitting their job and moving to another country, divorcing and starting over, rekindling an old passion, taking a sabbatical to travel the world, going back to school, or just embracing a new identity (& having the courage to leave behind the old) …

You’ll find women in their 30s, 40s, 50s, 60s and beyond who are proving that it’s never too late and you’re never too old to leave convention, start over, and reinvent yourself and your life.

  • From Stay-At-Home-Mom to Radio Host to Multiple Career Pivots. It’s Never Too Late To Start Over! Amy EmptyNexter P1 (Ep 09)
    2025/06/10

Are you a woman over 50 looking for your next reinvention in life? And maybe that reinvention won’t be your first, second, third or even your 10th?

If yes, I hope that this interview with Amy Freese from the Empty Nexter will show you that it’s OK to keep course correcting - and give you some invaluable tips for your own next reinvention.

When Amy was a new mom, she tried to be happy just with that, but soon realized that she wanted something more. So she started a women’s group, became a life coach, newspaper columnist, and then radio host.

Then at some point she realized she had burnt herself out trying to please other people, and so she decided to stop it all and start all over again.

So she took over her parent’s business, ran that for several years, and then decided to reinvent herself yet again.

    And she’s still reinventing today!

So if you need some inspiration or permission that no matter where you are, it’s ok to make new decisions, try something new, and pivot again - Then keep watching!

    ======================

IN THIS EPISODE WE TALK ABOUT:

➜How she started her first business as a stay at home mom.

➜How she then segued that into becoming a life coach, radio host, and newspaper columnist

➜Dealing with spouses and other people who think you should just be satisfied with what you already have

  • How Jiu Jitsu Helped Me Reinvent Myself After a Breakup at 36 (Laura from BJJ Babes P2 | E008)
    2025/05/09

Are you a woman in your late 30s early 40s who has undergone a break up or a big life move lately, and are looking for a way to reinvent yourself - and hopefully come out even stronger than before?

Maybe finding something that gets you out of your head, and into your body would help.

At the age of 36, Laura had just moved back to the United States, and was planning on starting a new life in San Diego with her fiance.

But then she got dumped out of the blue, and all of those plans went out the window.

Looking for something to distract her, she decided to sign up for a local Jiu Jitsu class.

Walking into that academy for the first time, she had no idea:

    1. How HARD it would be at first, and…

    2. How much Jiu Jitsu would end up changing her life.

Now she hosts the podcast BJJ Babes, and encourages other women who train (or want to get started) in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.

In this episode you'll hear about:

➜What it was like to get broken up with, right after making a big international move.

➜How doing martial arts helped her take her power back.

➜What it’s like to train as a woman in a male dominated sport.

➜How women in their 30s, 40s, 50s, and 60s are getting into Jiu Jitsu.

➜Deciding to start a podcast around her passion, even though she had no idea how to do it.

    And more!

No matter your age or where you are in your life: There are always more opportunities than you realize to reinvent yourself and live the life you want!

  • I "Rage Quit" My Job & Moved to Guam Mid-Career - With Laura from BJJ Babes P1 | E007
    2025/03/20

One day at work, 30-something Baltimore-based lawyer Laura finally reached her breaking point. She was fed up with her job, fed up with her life in Baltimore (which wasn‘t going how she wanted), fed up with still being single in her 30s, and fed up with “playing safe” & keeping herself small…

But instead of complaining to her friends like might have in the past, this time she took a surprising step:

She scoured the internet for other attorney jobs, and “rage-applied” to a job opening on the tropical island of Guam.

Not really expecting to get it, imagine her surprise when she got an email, then an interview, and then the offer:

She was quitting her job & moving to Guam! Mid-career, in her mid-30s.

That was just the beginning of the story. In Guam, a completely different Laura began to emerge:

🌟 One who took risks, instead of playing it safe

🌟 One who cared more about jungle runs & adventure than makeup and hair

🌟 One who did things for fun and adventure, rather than for the ulterior motive of meeting a partner.

    ===============================

IN THIS EPISODE WE TALK ABOUT:

➜ What life was like as an attorney in Baltimore & what finally pushed her over the edge to leave her comfort zone and take the risk.

➜ The surprising opportunities that exist in Guam for beginning and mid-career professionals (if you work in a professional field, you might want to check it out!)

➜ What life was like in Guam, and how living there, and how Laura used her new environment to change her personality and step out of her shell.

    And more!

(Stay tuned for the second half of this interview coming up in a few days!)
