Let's dish on DEI, shall we? Is it dead? Do you care? We think it's a good idea to keep doing the work, even if we have to 'hide the broccoli'! Host Rose Kaz asks if 'hiding the broccoli' in order to best present the beneficial parts of doing the work might be an effective tool to heal so that we can collectively see all people as humans. Meet Sandra Hunter, Kjell van Zoen & Zhou Fang . All individually bringing the work of inclusive practices into leadership & each of their styles lean into our global and inherent diversity to build equity. This collective conversation looks closely at why this work is really just our human responsibility if we would like to build a more equal world. As with all our podcast guests, this group of leaders' work does disrupt industry, particularly late stage capitalism that demands a head down, less conscious approach to being human. Their work touches the realms of money, sex & politics and that's why we are getting into on the MSP Pod! Sandra, Kjell & Zhou bring an intersectional approach to their teaching and leadership styles to translate this important work world wide. They believe - as does LBI Digital- that a world that has more equity is a world where everyone gets more! A recent headline proffered by another leader of a varying view point suggests that DEI is not only dead, but racist in it's intentions. We are refuting this and pointing to the ongoing need for this work to be foundational in both personal and business development. What exactly is Diversity, Equity & Inclusion? The wildly buzzy terms really just translate into all humans deserve respect and are entitled to the same access to resources so that equity is achieved. And maybe we do need to 'hide the broccoli' of that mission so that we can continue to pour these foundations into the new builds of our cultures, at work and at home, even if we use other terms or routes to accomplish the equity.
