このコンテンツについて
So, to our surprise it turns out Doctor Who is one of the few Sci-Fi series that Dani IS already familiar with. It appears she's seen at least one story from every Doctor.
Or had she?
Turns out we've still managed to find one Doctor she's never seen. In fact, one she never even knew existed!
Dr. Who and the Daleks (1965) and Daleks' Invasion Earth 2150 A.D. (1966) were two bold and bombastic children's movies made by British film studio Amicus. They arrived at the height of Dalekmania - that peculiar time in the UK during the 1960s when sticking a Dalek on anything marketed at children was a quick way to double sales.
Relentless feature film actor Peter Cushing took on the mantle of "Dr. Who", joined in both films by his granddaughter Susan, played by feisty child actress Roberta Tovey. In Dr. Who and the Daleks, they battle the pepperpots on their home planet of Skaro, and in Daleks' Invasion Earth 2150AD they thwart the Daleks' future conquest of Earth.
If you ask a Doctor Who fan about these movies they'll probably tell you that they were either a cheap and cynical cashgrab climbing on the Dalek bandwagon, or they'll tell you they're cherished icons of nostalgia from a time gone by. In fact some will probably tell you they're both these things!
But what will Dani think in her most thrill-making reaction?
Will she be the girl with the knack, or will she not find life so easy in the year 2150 AD?
Joining us this episode is Jonathan Miles of Westlake Films, and Doctor Who fan.
