    This episode is for you if you want to tweak your life for more meaning and deeper levels of success. It is inspired by this gorgeous quote by James Clear: You do not rise to the level of your goals. You fall to the level of your systems.

    Are you setting yourself up for success?

    In this episode we explore:

    1) what systems you have currently operating in your life and which ones aren't working for your highest good :) No shame or guilt - everyone has systems that fall a little short! But once you're aware of it, you can decide to change it!

    2) examples for ways you can set up different systems in your life, that support your dreams, instead of allowing you to fall back into old habits.

    3) encouragement for your self exploration and ability to grow and change! You are amazing! :) :)

  • 74. 3 Ways Golf is a Spiritual Practice

    This episode is a fun one! I've recently taken up golf as a regular sport, and it was all because my son got into it and loved it so much he'd want me to take him! So, I've had first hand experience on how golf changes the depth of life lesson type conversations we are having and how it forces you to build resilience, patience and commitment to the skills of the game, is so fantastic.

    Three Ways Golf is a Spiritual Practice:

    1. Patience, Patience, Patience and Self Compassion

    2. Shake it Off

    3. Cheer yourself on as much as you cheer others on!

    Meditation is an incredibly powerful tool in your quest for Inner Peace and experiencing pleasure and meaning in your life.

    The word meditation comes from from the Latin term Meditatum which means ‘to ponder’. By practicing meditation, we experience our SELF (or our SOUL) and realize how closely tied together our spirit is with our mind and our body.

    A very brief history of how meditation has been practiced by our ancestors was given.

    Spiritual benefits discussed in this episode are:

    • Gives you a wider perspective
    • Everyone is interconnected and interwoven, generating increased kindness and empathy for others. Entanglement theory.
    • When you are centred and grounded within your SELF, you are heart centred, which changes the way you are present with everyone in your life
    • Self love is increased, confidence is increased, because you become more clear on who you Truly are - you relate more with your Timeless Self than your Ego Self.
    • You are in flow, when you are able to be present in your life and allow your intuition to guide you - not your EGO.

  • 69 Why Meditation is Awesome for your Body (Part 2 of 3)

    Meditation is an anti-inflammatory and de-stressing tool for your body - free and available to you anywhere and at any time, who doesn't love that? :)

    Physical benefits to mediation mentioned in this episode are:

    • Lowers blood pressure, lower resting heart rate, better overall cardiovascular heart health
    • Increases healing on a cellular level
    • Stress reduction by calming the nervous system
    • Pain Management: it can reduce pain perception by altering brain activity and promoting a sense of calmness
    • Improved sleep quality - meditation helps you redirect racing or runaway thoughts, allows you to release tension in the body, and generally achieve a peaceful state which helps settle you down into a sound sleep
    • Strengthens immune system by reducing stress hormones. Shuts down sympathetic system and moves you into parasympathetic state = a relaxed state of being
    • Pineal gland sends out all the feel good chemicals, oxytocin, the hormone melatonin, etc
    • Meditation studies confirmed less brain activation in the amygdala, with it becoming less activated after meditation training. The amygdala is a small almond shaped brain structure primarily involved in processing emotions, particularly fear and aggression and in forming emotional memories, as well as social cognition. It helps us regulate the body’s response to stress by sending signals to the hypothalamus. It also influences the activity of the autonomic nervous system, which controls functions like heart rate, blood pressure and breathing.
    • Neural Plasticity - you can rewire your brain depending on your thoughts, and so with consistent meditation your brain literally rewires itself, which leads to observable structural and functional changes to your brain particularly in the areas related to attention, emotional regulation, and cognitive function.

  • 68 Why Meditation is Awesome for your Mental/Emotional Health (Part 1 of 3)

    Think of Mediation as mental-floss or good mental hygiene - for your mental and emotional health.

    As a meditation teacher, I am a massive meditation fan - and so I've put together a series of episodes, this one is Part 1, which goes through just a sampling of all the benefits of meditation for mental and emotional health.

    The ways meditation is awesome - that are discussed in this episode are:

    • Reduces stress across the board, which reduces anxiety & overwhelm
    • Increases your patience, which allows us to communicate with other better, to respond to the world more thoughtfully
    • It centers your heart & Soul’s desires and curiosities, instead of external demands and approvals
    • You are clearer with who you are, less distracted by the 3D world
    • Being in Devotion to your heart & soul inspires courage and boldness, it no longer has to be forced or cultivated
    • Enhances attention span and focus and memory retention after just as little as 10mins a day for 8 weeks according to one study.
    • 60 people in a 2018 study, receiving treatment for alcohol use disorder, linked meditation with lower stress levels, reduced psychological distress, reduced cravings, and lower alcohol use after 3 months.
    • Reduces negative feelings
    • Increases creativity
    • Our imagination impacts our physiology, use your mind for good - visualize how you want your life to be, visualize your dreams coming true. Your body and mind don’t work in linear time - it has no idea something you are visualizing didn’t really happen - get used to your mind working for you!
