Two men, Zachary Adams and Jason Autry, were eventually charged with the kidnapping, rape, and murder of Holly Bobo. A third man, John Dylan Adams, was charged with tampering with evidence. The trial of Zachary Adams began on September 11, 2017, and lasted for several weeks.
During the trial, the prosecution presented evidence that Adams had confessed to his involvement in the crime to several people, including his brother and ex-girlfriend. They also presented DNA evidence that matched Holly Bobo's blood and hair to Adams. John Dylan Adams pleaded guilty to charges of tampering with evidence and was sentenced to 35 years in prison.
