  • 06. Rhythm Forgive & Repair
    2025/04/23

Forgiveness and repair are rhythms of restoration. Forgiveness cancels debts, not by ignoring harm, but by remembering truthfully and extending grace—just as Christ has done for us. Repair is our response when we have caused harm, moving us to make thoughtful amends and pursue reconciliation with wisdom and hope.

Joining us for this conversation is Shanda Anderson, LPC-S, EMDR Trained, who brings deep insight into the healing power of these rhythms in our relationships and recovery journeys.

  • 05. Rhythm of Repent
    2025/04/16

To repent is to turn—away from sin and idols, and toward Christ and life in Him. It's not just behavior modification; it's resurrection in action. In this episode, we explore the transformative power of true repentance and how it flows from the inside out, beginning with the heart and leading to lasting change.

Together, we reflect on how repentance is rooted in remembering the gospel: we are wholly forgiven, set free, and defined by Christ—not our failures. As we turn from idols like control, significance, and comfort, we find deeper joy and freedom in God's presence.

Join us as we unpack what it means to walk in repentance and reframe our stories within the greater story of Jesus’ grace and resurrection hope.

  • Rhythm of Examine & Confess: Grief
    2025/04/09

Grief is a deeply human experience—one that touches every life and often reveals what we love, long for, and fear to lose. While many of us try to avoid grief, Scripture invites us to bring our sorrow to God and examine how it's shaping our hearts.

In this episode, we're joined by Crystal Wilkins, LPC-S, RPT-S, CCLS, to talk about the role of grief in spiritual formation. We explore how unprocessed grief can lead to disconnection from God and others, and how honest examination opens the door to healing, hope, and deeper intimacy with Christ.

Fear can grip our hearts, shape our decisions, and keep us from fully trusting God. While fear is a natural response to danger, it can also reveal where we place our trust.

In this episode, we’re joined by Dr. Jon Bergeron, PhD, Licensed Psychologist, to explore the role of fear in our lives, how it impacts our faith, and what it looks like to surrender our fears to Christ. Through honest conversation, we uncover the difference between healthy and unhealthy fear and learn how confession and community lead to greater freedom and peace in Christ.

    2025/03/31

Sexual sin is often surrounded by secrecy, shame, and struggle, making it difficult to examine and confess. But when left unchecked, it distorts our view of intimacy, damages relationships, and keeps us from walking in the freedom Christ offers.

In this episode, we’re joined by Jessica McDaniel, Licensed Professional Counselor at McDaniel Counseling, to discuss the deeper heart issues behind sexual immorality, the lies that keep us stuck, and how Christ offers true healing and restoration. Together, we explore how examining our hearts, confessing our struggles, and surrendering this area of our lives to Christ leads to restoration and renewal.

  • Rhythm of Examine & Confess: Guilt & Shame
    2025/03/26

Guilt and shame can weigh heavily on our hearts, shaping how we see ourselves and our relationship with God and others. While guilt acknowledges wrongdoing, shame attacks our identity, making us believe we are unworthy of love and forgiveness. Left unexamined, these burdens keep us stuck in cycles of hiding, striving, and self-condemnation.

In this episode, we’re joined by Lya Camp to explore how examining and confessing guilt and shame leads to true healing and freedom. Together, we unpack the difference between the two, how they distort our view of God and ourselves, and how Christ invites us to walk in the fullness of His grace.

    Scripture References for Guilt:

    1. 2 Corinthians 7:10 - “For godly grief (sorrow) produces a repentance that leads to salvation without regret, whereas worldly grief produces death.”
    2. Psalm 103:12 - “as far as the east is from the west, so far does he remove our transgressions from us.”
    3. Isaiah 53:5–6 “But he was pierced for our transgressions; he was crushed for our iniquities; upon him was the chastisement that brought us peace, and with his wounds we are healed. All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned—every one—to his own way; and the Lord has laid on him the iniquity of us all.
    4. Colossians 2:14 “by canceling the record of debt that stood against us with its legal demands. This he set aside, nailing it to the cross.”
    5. 1 Peter 3:18 “For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh but made alive in the spirit”
    6. Romans 5:8-10 “but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. 9 Since, therefore, we have now been justified by his blood, much more shall we be saved by him from the wrath of God. 10 For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, now that we are reconciled, shall we be saved by his life.”

    Scripture References for Shame:

    1. Romans 8:38-39 “For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord."
    2. Zephaniah 3:19 “I will change their shame into praise and renown in all the earth”
    3. Hebrews 12:1-2 “Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.
    4. Luke 15:20 “And he arose and came to his father. But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and felt compassion, and ran and embraced him and kissed him.”

  • Rhythm of Examine & Confess: Abuse
    2025/03/19

Abuse leaves deep wounds—physically, emotionally, and spiritually. It distorts our view of ourselves, others, and even God. In this episode, we explore how examining and confessing the impact of abuse can be a step toward healing, not in the sense of confessing fault for what was done to us, but in bringing our pain, anger, and struggles honestly before God. We’re joined by Brittany Beltran, LPC, to discuss the complexities of abuse, the weight of unprocessed trauma, and how Christ meets us in our deepest suffering with truth, justice, and restoration.

    Scripture References:

    • Psalm 34:18 – The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit.
    • Isaiah 61:1 – He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives.
    • Romans 12:19 – Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave it to the wrath of God.
    • 1 Peter 5:7 – Cast all your anxieties on Him, because He cares for you.

    Reflection Questions:

    • How has abuse shaped the way I see myself, others, and God?
    • What emotions or struggles have I been afraid to bring before God?
    • In what ways might unprocessed pain be influencing my relationships?
    • How does God’s justice and love offer hope and healing?
