    We are publishing our Rethinking Aging Club archives back to Nov 2021 by category until we catch up; with CES Highlights first, then Caregiver Friendly Products and Fitness and Wellness.



    It will take us about six months to get all of the approximately 100 remaining shows published by category in our podcast. However, you can listen to all of them on the Clubhouse replays.

    This episode focused on the very important area of nutrition. Jessica Cooper, Chief Science Officer for Opsis Health, introduced Plateful, a free app that uses AI to analyze food intake and provide personalized dietary recommendations. Regretfully, Opsis Health filed for bankruptcy in March 2024. You will still benefit from learning about it. Jessica is currently Director of Lifestyle Medicine for Metrodora Institute.

    Mory Bahar, CEO, Personal Remedies discussed their fully automated nutritional guidance system, which considers multiple chronic conditions and medications. We were fortunate to meet Mory through the HLTH conference.

    Odo von Wolfen explained Biostarts' $199 blood tests that analyze biomarkers and provide dietary recommendations. There are three separate products for Longevity, Sports and Nutrition.

    Alka Sahnan shared insights from the nursing home she manages in the UK, emphasizing the importance of natural, varied diets and regular weight monitoring.

    Michael Phillips explained AARP's nutrition research.
    Steve Ewell, Director of the Consumer Technology Association Foundation talked about the growth of food tech at CES.

    Bone and Joint Health National Action Week is October 12-18. World Osteoporosis Day is October 20. Experts joined us to talk about Bone Health, Osteoporosis, the Osteoboost product and Wellen.

    Ellen Khalifa, Peer Educator for the Bone Health and Osteoporosis Foundation (BHOF) and has been trained by her county to govern fall prevention classes for older adults at risk. Ellen Khalifa works with individuals and entrepreneurs on extending health and wellbeing to match 21st Century lifespans.

    Carol Fujiyoshi, MD, FACOG, Up until recently Chief of Staff and head of OB/Gyn department at Wilcox Hospital, part of the Hawaii Pacific Health Group. Dr. Fujiyoshi gave a medical overview of Osteoporosis including prevention (Tai Chi is definitely of note) and pharmacological therapy options with their side effects.

    Dr. Michael Jaasma has a PhD in orthopedic biomechanics from UC Berkeley. In his PhD research, he studied how bone cells respond to mechanical loading, so his expertise aligns almost perfectly with the technology behind Osteoboost. Mike is the inventor for over 10 patents across a range of medical devices. He has also worked at the FDA as a medical device reviewer and manager of reviewers.

    Prior to joining Bone Health Technologies, Priya was the founder and CEO of Wellen, a personalized exercise program for individuals with osteoporosis and osteopenia, which was very recently acquired by Bone Health Technologies. As the Chief Product Officer at Bone Health Technologies, she leads the development of digital services that offer a comprehensive, multi-modal bone health solution for individuals with low bone density.
