  • Human Umbilical Cord Tissue
    2022/07/21
Hi, I'm Dr. Spence Jahner from Joint Repair Clinic of Montana. Today, we're going to talk about what we do in our office. There's so many different choices out there for joint pain, from physical therapy to drugs to surgery, we'd like to show you what we do here at Joint Repair Clinic of Montana that changes people's lives in a natural, healthy way. So we started Joint Repair Clinic of Montana, because I was down in Texas, and I was visiting doctor's offices for my son who went to college down in Texas. And I went into a chiropractor's office, and he had before and after images of joints, knee joints and hip joints and shoulder joints where you could clearly see an improvement in the joint. And I was quite amazed when I looked at those images, because being a chiropractor, I'd never seen joint [00:01:00] cushioning or joint spaces improve. So I asked him, what type of chiropractic he was doing that was getting results with joints like that. And the chiropractor just smiled at me, and he said, this isn't chiropractic, this is working with umbilical cord tissue. And when I saw that, it just changed my life because I realized we could do things for people's joints that I never knew about. I came back and I did research, and there's some great researchers out there, one of my mentors is Dr. Neil Riordan. And once I learned about what umbilical cord tissue was capable of doing for joints, I just got excited. So then I said, I got to find clinics in Montana that are using human umbilical cord tissue, and particularly, I was very interested in finding umbilical cord tissue from the highest labs, and one of the labs that we found that I believe had the highest quality was Dr. Neil Riordan's lab called Signature Biologics. And so, [00:02:00] after researching the different labs and actually travel to the different labs, we understood that they had the highest quality product. So we started putting human umbilical cord tissue in people's joints to recushion the joints, and we have had great success then. And once I found that nobody else in Montana was using that tissue, I realized we needed to open clinics. So not just one clinic, we opened four clinics in Missoula, Helena, Billings, and here in Bozeman. The golden jewel of what we do to recushion joints is the human umbilical cord tissue that we put in people's joints. But there are other things that we can also do for people's joints, things that are less expensive than our available options. In fact, we found if we put a combination together, we get the best results. So one of the things we combined with our human umbilical cord tissue, and we involve some specific chiropractic adjustments, that if people have nerves that aren't functioning ideally to the joints, [00:03:00] and since your nervous system runs everything in the body, your nerves also control blood flow, so if people have nerve damage to a joint, one of the first things we want to do is make sure that those nerves are functioning better than joint, so that when we put in the umbilical cord tissue, we get better results. Another thing that we provide is nutrition. We found that umbilical cord tissue has certain vitamins and nutrients that helps it thrive and helps it function better. And so, we provide supplements and nutrition to give the results of our umbilical cord tissue a better chance of success. Another thing that we do is we work with PRP, which stands for Platelet Rich Plasma, where we actually draw people's blood out, we spin out their platelet rich plasma, we add an accelerant to it, that from plasma solutions that enhances the qualities of PRP and then we inject that back [00:04:00] into the joints and that has anti-inflammatory components and growth factors, and also is a support to the umbilical cord tissue. But PRP by itself also has benefits. So you can do the PRP by itself, or you can add it later to the whole package to enhance the effects of the umbilical cord tissue that we work with. Another system that we work with is post electromagnetic field tables, which help increase the blood supply to the joint area, it resets the nerves, and it also improves the functioning of the umbilical cord tissue or the benefits of umbilical cord tissue. Another service that we make available to our patients is prolotherapy and ozone therapy. So what prolotherapy is an ozone therapy. Basically, prolotherapy is using ozone with some other products that also magnify the benefits from different vitamins that increase the [00:05:00] benefits of ozone by itself. But what is ozone? Ozone is O3, and oxygen in its normal state is O2. So by putting ozone into joints, many joints that are not healing, that are hurting, that aren't functioning right, are hypoxic, which means they lack oxygen; and when you put O3 or ozone in a joint, it wants to get rid of that extra oxygen. So when you put in extra oxygen in an environment that's lacking oxygen, that environment gladly takes that extra oxygen, and ...

  • Hope For Pain-Free Joints
    2022/08/06
Visit us on the web today at jointrepairmt.com and on Google Maps in Bozeman, Helena, Billings. Spence: [00:00:00] Hi, I’m Dr. Spence Jahner from Joint Repair Clinic of Montana. Today, we’re going to talk about what joints can we put cushioning in to help people get rid of their pain and their suffering and improve their quality of life.  So we’ve had people that have come to us with joint pain, and when we’ve analyzed them, their joints aren’t functioning right, and so, they’ve requested that we put human umbilical cord tissue in their joints. And we’ve also learned that they’ve been diagnosed with meniscus tears and labrum tears and soft tissue damage. And what’s been a unique blessing is one of the side effects of putting umbilical cord tissue in people’s joints, for people that have had soft tissue and tears is that they feel as a result of our procedures, that their joints are working better and functioning better than ever, [00:01:00] as a result of human umbilical cord tissue injected in their joints.  So we’ve just been able to help many people with many different situations by injecting human umbilical cord tissue, re-cushioning their joints, and getting better range of motion in their joints. So what are the joints that we’ve been able to help people get re-cushioning in their bodies? Some of the main joints that we’ve had great success with are the knees, and the shoulders. We’ve also had great success with people with their hips, with people with their backs – being a chiropractor for 30 years, I was so grateful to realize that when people have cushioning gone in their backs, that when we put human umbilical cord tissue in their backs that we can get cushioning back in their backs and improve their function in their backs as well. We’ve also had good success with people’s feet, in the wrist, in their elbows, so it’s just been such a blessing. Basically, any joint in the body that has cushioning where the cushioning has [00:02:00] degenerated or the joints don’t function right or they lose range of motion in their joints, we’ve had success with putting umbilical cord tissue in their bodies and improving their lives.  So when can we talk about what ages of people can we help, there’s really a huge spectrum. Now, very often younger people, we can do some of our treatments with the PRP, and some of the other treatments that we have, and get really good results, very often, younger people can get healing without the use of human umbilical cord tissue. Now, if their joints are bad enough, the umbilical cord tissue may be the best thing that we have to offer. But very often, younger people can use other treatments and have success.  As far as what is too old, one of my favorite stories that I would recommend you all take some time to watch is go to YouTube and put in the name Hut Gibson, which is Mel Gibson, the actor Mel Gibson’s dad. And he was 92 years old, [00:03:00] and he had a bad hip, he had a lot of health problems, and he actually went down to Dr. Riordan’s clinic down in Panama City, Panama. But he got umbilical cord tissue put in his hip, and he was in a wheelchair, he was 92 years old, and the doctors at Mayo Clinic down in Arizona, highly advised that Mel Gibson and his family do not do umbilical cord tissue. But after the great doctor at Mayo Clinic in Arizona researched about umbilical cord tissue, he changed his mind. So one of the things that I want you all to listen to is, if your doctor is advising you against using human umbilical cord tissue, I would encourage you to ask him how much research they’ve done on human umbilical cord tissue, because it’s not something that is taught in medical schools. And in Mel Gibson’s dad’s example, his doctor advised against it, and it wasn’t that he was against it, [00:04:00] it was just that he didn’t know about it; and after he took some time to research it, he changed his mind and actually said what he got to lose. And Mel Gibson’s dad at 92 went and had human umbilical cord tissue put in his joints, and as a result of it, he got out of his wheelchair, he celebrated, I know, his 100th birthday, and he enjoyed life for many years after 92. So as far as I’m concerned, there’s no age too old to get better. So there’s a great example of what you can do.  One of the common questions we hear, here at Joint Repair Clinic of Montana is, can you help me if the doctors told me I have bone on bone, and that the only thing that I can do is surgery or replacement. The good answer is yes, we’ve looked at people that have been diagnosed with bone on bone, and very often, people are told they have bone on bone, and when I look at their X-rays, there’s clearly still a joint space in there, so it’s not truly bone on bone. It’s just a [00:05:00] narrowing of the joint. And from my understanding, once the joint starts to narrow, a lot of doctors feel that’s a valid reason ...

  • Human Umbilical Cord Injections Q&A
    2022/10/08
Visit us on the web today at jointrepairmt.com and on Google Maps in Bozeman, Helena, Billings. How do I get the best results when re-cushioning joints? Dr. Jahner answers this question and others about Human Umbilical Cord Injections. Transcript:Spence: [00:00:00] I’m Dr. Spence Jahner from Joint Repair Clinic of Montana. All right, so today we’re going to talk about the big question, does this hurt? I’m here to tell you that I’m somebody who doesn’t like needles. So one of the things that really concerned me was how painful this was going to be. And one of the things I’m glad to report is our medical team is awesome, when it comes to these injections. I’ve had my blood drawn for getting my vitamin D levels tested, and I’m here to tell you that my injections into my knees were no more painful than getting my blood drawn for the vitamin D levels tested. So, for the most part, these are very gentle, if I could say, injections. Now, I have to tell you though, when we inject hands and feet, [00:01:00] because those joints don’t have the cushioning material that our other joints have, hands and feet injections are often more painful. So I just want to make sure I’m being honest with you all to understand that we inject hands and feet to knees and shoulders and backs and hips. The hands and feet are often more uncomfortable for the injections, but for the most part, the rest of the joints, people are very pleased with how little the injections themselves hurt. I often ask our patients after the medical team does the injection hurt, how painful was that, or how would you rate it on a scale of 1 to 10, a 10 being that it was awesome, a zero being it was horrific. And the lowest number I’ve ever heard was an 8.There it is – if you’re worried about how much it hurts, I want you to understand, yes, the needle does go in, but for the most part, these guys are awesome. And that’s also one for you to know that I’m not the one that does the injections, we have a medical team that does our injections for us. So the good news is, we do all of the procedures right here at our clinics [00:02:00] at the four locations right in the office where you do the evaluation, right where you get to talk to me, if you come to Bozeman, or our other clinics is where we do the injections. Now, people sometimes want to know, well, if I have a shoulder problem and a hip problem, how many joints can I do at once, or do I just do one at a time? And based upon the circumstances, we’ll tell you what the best recommendation is. Most joints we do at one time right now is four joints at one time. So we’ve had some patients where we’ve done both knees and both shoulders, or maybe a knee, a shoulder, a back. We have different variations, but we can do up to four at one time, and there are advantages of doing it at the same time, and I can explain that to you, when we do your consultation. When our patients ask us how long will this take for me to get results or to recover, that varies from patient to patient, and it also varies from how well our patients do on their post-treatment care. And so, some people notice benefits from the first month, [00:03:00] some people the second month. We’ve had some patients that notice a difference in that three to six-month time, which is typically where people notice the results. But we had one person who said they noticed some results at three to six months, but it was until almost a year with their hip that they really felt that they noticed the total benefit. So it varies from patient to patient, but one important thing that all of our patients need to understand is how well you follow instructions after your treatment. For instance, we have an anti-inflammatory eating program that is challenging, because anti-inflammatory eating involves not eating sugar, and it’s very disheartening, because so many people’s diet contains products that are high in sugar. And so, if we want to get the best results with our re-cushioning of the joints and our getting the range of motion, and getting rid of pain, we need to get rid of inflammation. So we will coach you through things you can eat, [00:04:00] so you can get the best results. But as far as how long does it take to recover or how long the results, a lot of that is going to be determined by what you do. But typically, the three to six-month range is a good rule of thumb; some people before that, some people after that, but we just want to do this thing right. So when people ask me, does that mean no sugar whatsoever, or, like, how strict do I have to be on this diet, and my answer to that question is, well, how good results do you want? So if you want a 100% results, then you got to do it 100%, and we’re talking three months. Now, of course, I’d love you to do this eating plan for the rest of your life, because here are some side benefits of the anti-inflammatory eating plan: one of the side benefits that we ...

  • Improving Your Quality Of Life
    2022/11/22
Visit us on the web today at jointrepairmt.com and on Google Maps in Bozeman, Helena, Billings. Transcript Hi, this is Dr. Spencer Jahner from Joint Repair Clinic of Montana. Today, we’re going to explain to you how we make our procedures available to everybody. Even people whose insurance won’t cover it, and how they can still get their lives back despite insurance.0:28 All right, so I’m going to call it the big elephant in the room. The question everybody wants to know is, why doesn’t insurance cover the procedures that you do? 0:38 People need to understand that Medicare has a rule, or it’s in their law that says if you do anything to improve health or quality of life, it’s considered maintenance care and it’s considered non-medically necessary. This means Medicare doesn’t cover anything that improves health or quality of life. 0:58 And I, I’m embarrassed to say, unfortunately, what we do improves health or quality of life. So that’s another reason why Medicare won’t pay for this. 1:08 And I want you all to understand, I take this very serious. In fact, I traveled to Washington DC many years, and I spoke with our Montana senator, Senator Max Baucus at the time, who was the head of finance committee, which is the committee that oversees Medicare. 1:24 And we specifically asked him, why doesn’t Medicare cover procedures that improve health or quality of life? And his response was, we’re not going to talk about that. 1:36 Let’s move on to the next subject. So as crazy as that may sound, that’s the law. Medicare doesn’t pay for anything that improves health or quality of life. 1:46 And what we do is all about that.I’m so glad though that the prices have come down. From my understanding, people used to have to leave the U.S. to go to other countries to get the procedures done that we’re doing here in the U.S. and they paid upwards of hundreds of thousands of dollars for the same treatments that we’re able to do now for just a few thousand dollars. 2:07 So the good news is we’re moving in the right directions as far as making this available for all of you out there. 2:12 So those of you that have been listening to me and maybe have heard some of my other videos or comments may think that I’m opposed to insurance companies a hundred percent, and to surgeries a hundred percent. 2:24 And I want to make it very clear that I thank God for emergency medicine. I know there’s a time and a place for surgery and I am very grateful when a soldier loses a limb that we have artificial limbs to help them out. 2:36 So I want to make sure that it’s understood that I’m thankful for hospitals and medical doctors and joint replacement surgery in some circumstances. 2:48 But I also want to make it clear, I think that people should always try to find a healthy way to get their joints working better first and try every other option first. 2:59 And then if that surgery is the only option left, and it gets people success, hallelujah. But I also know that we’d be inaccurate to think that every person who gets their joint replaced is happy because I’ve met way too many people that wish they would’ve tried something else. 3:16 First. Surgery is very invasive. One of the blessings that we’ve had available is we actually had a patient named Rob who did the ideal research for us. 3:29 He put his body on the line. He had joint replacement in one knee and he did human umbilical cord tissue in his other knee. 3:36 So we have the unique circumstance all within the same year to compare head to head. And in his words, he said, I wished I would’ve been more patient, and I wished I would’ve done umbilical cord tissue in both joints. 3:50 Now you have to understand in his situation, his insurance paid for his joint replacement. They didn’t pay for his human umbilical cord tissue cell in his knee and the re-cushioning in his knees. 4:03 And even though his insurance didn’t cover, and he had to pay out of pocket a hundred percent for the umbilical cord tissue in his knee, he still wishes that he would’ve done that in both knees instead of having joint replacement in the one knee. 4:16 So it’s very nice to know that there’s people from Montana that have compared one system to the other. And they chose to do what we do in this office as their preference and what they would recommend to you all. 4:30 So one thing I want to make sure you all understand, and Rob’s example, is they actually wanted to replace both of his knees. 4:37 So they felt that both of his knees were equally bad. And so they recommended he replaced them both at the same time. 4:44 But something in Rob told him he didn’t want to do that. So he chose just to do one. And then he chose to put the human umbilical cord tissue in his other knee. 4:52 And so after he did the umbilical cord tissue, he chose not to tell his doctors that he did the umbilical cord tissue in his knees. 5:02 But when he went ...
