Shivji agreed and after this the gods prepared Shivji as a groom. When Shivji got ready as a groom, everyone was astonished to see his divine form. Queen Mainavati also agreed for the marriage. After this, Shiv-Parvati's marriage was solemnized in the presence of baraatis, mischief makers, ghosts, spirits, all the gods and the creator of the universe, Brahma ji.

Shiva Purana says that Nandi was born from a yajna performed by Shilada. Nandi grew up as an ardent devotee of Shiva and he performed severe penance to become his gate-keeper, as well as his mount, on the banks of river Narmada.

He promised to wed her in her next birth as Padmavati, born as the daughter of Akasa Raja, when Rama himself would take the form of Srinivasa. Meanwhile, Akasa Raja and his queen Dharanidevi were anxious about the health of their daughter, Padmavathi. They learnt about Padmavathi's love for Srinivasa of Venkata Hill.

In the Srimad Bhagavatam, there comes a narration of Dhruva Maharaj. Dhruv Maharaj, a 5-year old boy, who was made humiliated by his step-mother for desiring to sit on his father's lap- a situation that was not his control. Dhruv Maharaj went to his mother who suggested him to worship Lord Krishna.

Dhruva succeeded his father to the throne and ruled the country for many years. At the time of his leaving this material world, Sri Hari sent two Vishnu Dhootas (messengers of Lord Vishnu) and made him the Pole Star, who would shine till the Universe existed. His mother was also given a place near him.

The goddess was said to have emerged from a lotus flower in a pond in the nearby town of Padmavathi Kshetram. She was discovered by Lord Venkateswara while he was on a hunting expedition, and they fell in love. They got married in a grand ceremony, which is believed to have taken place at this temple.

He foretold that she was destined to be the spouse of Lord Vishnu himself. At this time, Lord Srinivasa, who was hunting, chased a wild elephant in the forests surrounding the hills. In the elephant's pursuit, the Lord was led into a garden, where Princess Padmavati and her maids were picking flowers

When the fortune-teller revealed that Padmavathi was born to marry Vishnu in his current avatar as Srinivasa, she recovered. As the king heard this news, Vakula announced herself to the king and asked for his daughter's hand in marriage to her son, Srinivasa.
