Pilot: Biblical Theology with Andrew Cannon

  • サマリー

  • I haven't published on a regular schedule in a while. I wanted to settle into my new ministry position at Green Acres Baptist Church and really sit down and think about a direction for my teaching and publishing in this season. You can begin expecting regular posts on this blog, most likely on Thursdays. My direction for the foreseeable future is going to be geared toward biblical theology. While my teaching and writing will still be expository in nature, it's going to feel a little different than it has in the past because I am being more intentional about exploring the perspicuous motifs in Scripture, the themes that are strung like nerves through the Old and New Testaments--motifs we often lose sight of when we narrow our focus so intently on a few verses. I know I have, in my pursuit of pure exegesis, missed motifs that were just out of my peripherals. I know I have, in my love of systematic theology, sometimes missed the threads that connect and support the doctrines I have come to love so much. Biblical theology is a basic prerequisite for every other theological pursuit. It is the baseline of proper exegesis. Yet, like Icarus, we ascend too quickly to the heights.

In conjunction with this new focus for the blog, I am releasing a new podcast, which should be discoverable on most streaming platforms. A link to the pilot episode is below.

I am releasing a new series of books, beginning with the first Killing Death, which you can find for free download at my blog: andrewpaulcannon.blog.
