  • Pillow Fort - Episode 18 - Deep House Cleaning & Long Drive Listening Habits
    2025/02/03

In this episode, Roo and Aimee bring the fort to Catalyst Studio, recorded by Tom Casey. The duo plans to release the full video on YouTube later this week.

Aimee delves into the transformative power of deep house cleaning, claiming it can (at least temporarily) make life feel fixable. She also gushes about her bug lady, who she’s determined to befriend, but is concerned that there will always be issues with their power dynamic.

When it comes to long drives, the hosts couldn’t be more different. Roo and her boyfriend bond over self-help audiobooks (though Aimee is convinced it’s all part of a subtle improvement campaign), while Aimee and her husband embrace the silence. Both agree: the hardest part of road trips with your partner is realizing you’ve already discussed everything.

It’s a cozy, quirky episode full of laughs, relatable moments, and a surprising dose of slug envy!

  • Pillow Fort - Episode 17 - Petroleum Jelly & First Tattoos - Live at Lil' Indies
    2025/01/27

This special episode was recorded live at Lil’ Indies, a beloved Orlando bar where Roo and Aimee have hosted countless comedy shows. Known for its cozy atmosphere and delicious drinks (though we’re not sponsored by neighboring restaurant Plantees), Lil’ Indies set the perfect stage for an unforgettable night.

PLEASE KNOW that this is a live recording and Aimee messed up the original recording, so we used the audio from Roo’s camera. WE ARE LEARNING AS WE GO PEOPLE! So, there are some background noises and weird edits and cuts and you know what, you will just feel like a real live experience while you listen to this, which we absolutely meant to do.

This episode featured guest comedians Jazmynne Sierra and Jason Montilla. Jazmynne shared a wild story about booking Roo and Aimee for a show last year, where she met her dad and his family for the first time.

Roo discussed her decision to avoid pork and gelatin, while Aimee tackled the true meaning behind “this little piggy went to the market.” The duo also dove into audience questions like, “How do you sleep at night?” and riffed on petroleum jelly and first tattoos—though thanks to a mishap with Aimee’s music setup, the full recording didn’t survive.

  • Pillow Fort - Episode 16 - Cults & Gardening
    2025/01/20

This week, Roo and Aimee dive into cults, canned fish, and cucumbers with a special guest: Roo’s cat, Philippe, who has to leave to do his taxes. The episode kicks off with Roo’s Costco salmon mix-up, leading to a deep dive into her love for tinned fish and a plan for a tin fish party, complete with a side of potential mercury poisoning. Meanwhile, Aimee is not on board and insists that cult documentaries are her true obsession. She breaks down the classic cult formula: fresh food, anti-capitalism, and then—inevitably—one guy ruining it all with weird power trips and sex stuff. (Improv, they realize, is their own little cult—minus the sex, plus tinned fish sales.)

Roo also shares her new gardening hobby, starting with garlic and cucumbers, only to discover it’s way more expensive and labor-intensive than she thought. The pair reminisce about growing up with no money, eating sandwich crusts, and Roo sneaking cocoa powder as a forbidden sweet treat.

Sprinkle in some laughs about Philippe’s black toe-beans, feet videos, accepting compliments as women, and their love for Daytona comedy, and you’ve got a perfectly cozy, unhinged episode of Pillow Fort!

  • Pillow Fort - Episode 15 - Southern Internal Monologues & TikTok Weather People
    2025/01/13

This week in the fort, Roo and Aimee serve up a slice of Southern charm (and chaos) with a fresh new episode! Roo introduces her lime tree baby, affectionately given both French and Italian names, and learns that her new role as a lime mom excludes her from the elite SINKs and DINKs club. Meanwhile, Aimee reminisces about growing up in Florida’s citrus-rich days but doubles down on the fact that she’s not from the South.

The duo dive into accents—Roo’s internal monologue, which is a Southern twang inspired by 90 Day Fiancé and Aimee’s inability to stay consistent in character. Plus, Aimee passionately calls out TikTok weather "experts" giving evacuation advice during Florida hurricanes without a degree in meteorology. Spoiler: it’s not just annoying, it’s dangerous.

Grab a sweet tea (or a lime cocktail) and settle into the fort for another cozy, laugh-filled episode!

  • Pillow Fort - Episode 12 - Car Eating & Bed Settings - Season Finale
    2024/09/16

In the season finale of Pillow Fort with Roo & Aimee, the duo wraps up with a mix of laughs, confessions, and some seriously relatable moments. Roo kicks things off by sharing her experience on the Tom and Dan podcast—though they mistakenly called it Pillow Talk instead of Pillow Fort. This leads into a fun discussion on their not-so-sexy but still playful merch ideas.

Aimee opens up about her secret shame: car eating. She wishes she could kick the habit but admits she’s so embarrassed that she’d rather tell the police she’s drinking alcohol if she got pulled over. Meanwhile, Roo can’t seem to find the perfect bed setting—everything is either too hard, too soft, or way too expensive, leaving her back in a constant state of discomfort.

They also touch on Roo’s anxiety-induced gas, Aimee’s love for her bikini body t-shirt (which she hopes to turn into merch), and her ever-present Nicolas Cage pillow. Plus, Roo proposes a new nickname for the listeners: Bed Bugs.

They also announce their next Instagram Live (Monday, which will be filled with season updates, re-caps, and special guests. Tune in on Roo’s instagram @uroosastfu. Also follow us on Instagram at @pillowfortpod. Don’t miss it!

  • Pillow Fort - Episode 11 - SINKs/DINKs, Dreams, & Ankle Socks
    2024/09/09

In this episode, Roo and Aimee are joined by comedian, singer, improv coach, and founder/director (along with his wife) of Improv U, Anthony Francis.

They kick things off with a discussion on SINKs (Single Income, No Kids) and DINKs (Dual Income, No Kids), exploring how these lifestyles shape their experiences. They reminisce about being wiley youths. Roo shares that she ate an entire bowl of honey, while Aimee reveals a twenty-year family lie about drawing on a pillow. Anthony adds that he tried to help and clean his dad’s car as a kid and thought scraping a rock would get it really clean.

Anthony digs into learning and understanding the meaning of his dreams, while Aimee explains why her brain can’t actually see much while she is dreaming. Roo discusses her excitement for loose teeth dreams adding to her humanity.

Fashion also takes center stage as Aimee declares that ankle socks are out and grampy socks are officially in. The episode wraps up with a fun chat about middle parts and their role in today’s style trends.

This episode is packed with laughs, stories, and insights you won’t want to miss. Tune in for another unforgettable adventure in the Pillow Fort!
