Jesus calls believers to be both salt and light in the world, serving as preservatives in a decaying society while illuminating the path to God. As salt, Christians must maintain their distinctive character and moral purity to effectively influence culture. As light, believers are called to openly display their faith through good works that glorify God. This dual role requires carefully balancing truth with love, speaking biblical truth with kindness while meeting people where they are. The effectiveness of Christians depends on maintaining spiritual authenticity while actively engaging with the world around them.

Expectant Culture.

We recognize that in a world filled with hopelessness the church holds the power of life in its ability to live in hopeful anticipation. We expect God to rule and reign sovereignly. We expect Jesus to save people and be in relationship with them. We expect the Holy Spirit to move on people’s hearts and lives and to be present amidst all situations.

Think about a baseball player at bat. Before the pitch comes, they take their stance - the ready position. This position isn't about looking impressive; it's about being prepared for whatever comes next. In our spiritual lives, God calls us to take a similar stance - being ready to serve Him in whatever way He asks. We don't need to be perfect or exceptionally talented. We just need to be willing and available. Just like a baseball player who may not know exactly where the pitch will go, we may not always know how God will use us. But when we position ourselves with willingness and openness, we're ready for whatever He has planned.

Have you ever felt lost, chasing after different goals but never feeling truly fulfilled? Many of us spend years pursuing success, relationships, or achievements, only to discover they don't bring lasting satisfaction. The truth is, our lives find their true purpose when we place God at the center. Just as a compass needs its true north to provide accurate direction, we need God as our central reference point to navigate life meaningfully. When we align our lives with God's purposes, everything else falls into proper perspective. This doesn't mean our dreams and aspirations don't matter, but rather they find their proper place within God's greater plan.
