  • The No 1 clinic problem I solve
    2025/02/23

In this podcast, Gilly discusses the common struggles clinic owners face when trying to attract new patients. She highlights the costly mistakes many make, such as investing heavily in Google Ads or services like Yell, which often yield poor results.

Gilly critiques these expensive options and explains why they don't work, like competing with local clinics or underpricing services. Instead, she advocates for a more effective approach: leveraging free social media marketing strategies to build trust with the community. By engaging with potential patients online and offering value, clinic owners can generate organic referrals, reduce unnecessary expenses, and create a steady stream of new patients.

Gilly emphasizes the benefits of taking a creative, non-pushy approach to marketing and transforming one's clinic with thoughtful, long-term strategies.

    The Hidden Fix (0:12)
"It's the biggest and most common problem I solve. However, you might be surprised to know that most people don't do the easy stuff to fix it."

    The Google Ads Dilemma (2:05)
"Most people ignore Google ads, don't you? And look for the organic results to their search."

    The Risk of Undercharging (3:03)
"Undercharging or discounting the first appointment is going to result in attracting new patients who don't value you and they obviously won't return."

The Rewards of Building Your Clinic (4:08)
"When you learn how to and you do make the effort to build your own clinic, you will reap the rewards over and over again."

  • Oops - I've made myself homeless!
    2025/02/19

In this podcast, Gilly reflects on taking risks throughout her life, particularly in business and personal decisions. She describes how, at the age of 21, she left her quiet hometown for London and later moved with her family to Athens for over six years, taking on challenges along the way. Launching her business, Osteobiz, in 2013 was another risk, but one that has paid off by helping clients improve their income, success, and work-life balance.

The story then shifts to the present, where Gilly describes the process of buying her dream apartment. After selling her house and dealing with lengthy delays, she took the bold step of moving into temporary accommodation in an Airbnb while her purchase was nearly finalised. Gilly sees this as another calculated risk, trusting that everything will eventually fall into place.

She ties this risk-taking back to her ability to spot opportunities and think creatively in business, offering clients unique solutions and visions for their futures. Gilly ends by asking the audience about the craziest calculated risks they’ve taken, showing curiosity about others' experiences.

(0:03 - 1:09) The Risk of Homelessness: A Leap into the Unknown
Oh, I've made myself homeless. Yes, indeed, it's true. I've got previous for risk-taking, but not the kind you'd probably think.

(1:12 - 1:42) Osteobiz: Calculating the Odds of Success
So launching Osteobiz back in 2013 was another calculated risk. I mean, what was the worst that could happen? I might have to take my husband's advice and get a proper job.

(1:43 - 2:26) Finding the Perfect Flat: A Fortuitous Twist
So back to being homeless. Long, long ago, in September 2023, I rang my estate agent Sam and gave him a description of the exact and very rare flat we wanted to buy. By some miracle, though, 20 minutes earlier, he had been instructed to sell the very flat which matched my shopping list.

(3:00 - 4:02) Living Out of Boxes: A Risk Worth Taking
We're currently living out of boxes and I have a temporary desk where I'm typing this podcast up. I'll chalk that down to another calculated risk.
