We are talking all about the amazing, indie retro styled survival horror game, Crow Country on the latest episode of the Silent Evil Podcast. Combining elements of Resident Evil and Silent Hill then topped off with the graphic scheme of the original Final Fantasy 7 and just oozing with atmosphere. Created by Newgrounds alumni, Tom, and Adam Vian of SFB Games (formerly The Super Flash Bros.) in 2024. This game captures the magic of past horror titles, yet adds in some new fresh perspectives, and is complete with an excellent story and great characters.

We each did a few playthroughs and discussed the whole experience. Breaking down different elements of the game, how it plays, and what it made us feel throughout Mara's journey into the creepy and demented theme park of Crow Country. This is defiantly a must play if you enjoy that old school survival horror experience of the 90s and 2000s. The Silent Evil Podcast returns for a new round of survival horror gaming fun with a retrospective and review. I am joined by my ole pal, Cameron Curbelo who you might remember from a handful of the Old Man Orange Podcast episodes in the past. We decided on starting off with the ultimate horror classic, Dino Crisis. Capcom's 1999 spin off of Resident Evil Biohazard series but with dinosaurs instead. Giving it a Jurassic Park experience. It was created by Shinji Mikami and filled with some experimental gameplay to test the waters for Code Veronica and other games in the future. With one of the best female protagonists of all time, Regina, and her special operations crew's investigation of a secret island research facility. Think Lost World's Site B.

So, we have gone through another playthrough round and discuss our thoughts on how well this game holds up today, our first time experiences, the creative gameplay choices it offers, the solid enough storyline with its 3 alternate endings, the sequels, puzzles, cutscenes, and how Capcom really needs to either make a brand new game or remake this classic in the RE Engine. Then, when a naughty, entitled rich kid gets a lump of coal for Christmas, he hires Walton Goggins to assassinate Chris Cringle. This movie is filled with a ton of depth. Great action, solid drama, and comedy to top it all off. This to me is one of the greatest Christmas movies I have ever seen. Joining me on the discussion is my old pal, Josh Bullock.
