  • Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, Season 9, Episode 5 Harm
    2025/06/05

In this episode, dubbed the "JSTOR Smudge" episode (check out ~38:30 into the episode), Geoff, Mike, Derrick, and special guest/unpaid editor/non-lawyer Colleen Moore discuss the fifth episode of the ninth season of Law & Order: SVU (2007). We discuss the various tropes of Dick Wolf's Law & Order, continuous jurisdiction, international law, and comparisons to the real-life torture at Abu Ghraib during the Iraq War. And we discuss how Derrick is not an ICJ Statute Article 38(1)(d) scholar ... but we are hoping to have some highly qualified publicists on our podcast eventually.

Thank you to our editor Colleen Moore, especially since she had to edit her own voice, the whole reason Geoff stopped doing audio editing of the podcast...

  • Sidebar 5 - Mo(o)re Colleen Moore
    2025/05/29

Our next regularly scheduled episode will come out next week, which will include as a guest host, Colleen Moore, our unpaid editor who has become an unpaid guest host. In this bonus episode, we introduce Colleen and have her talk about the Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act ("PLCAA"). We originally brought up the PLCAA two weeks ago in the Runaway Jury episode, but Colleen has much more experience with it than the rest of the hosts.

Next week we are going to start a two-episode arc discussing two different episodes of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.

    Dun dun.
