  • As Rory proposes to Ingefaer, the alvae Shrine they're visiting is set ablaze. Ingefaer is arrested. Rory hunts for the true arsonist, but is shadowed by soldiers and makes little progress as most mages refuse to talk to him as it's beneath them and he's a human. One alvae mage talks to him and erases all the suspects on his list, leaving him with one option: to interview the chief healer of the Shrine that burned. Arabella puts Rory off at first, but he presses, threatening violence. She tells him she knows Ingefaer didn't burn the shrine, but refuses to reveal the culprit as it would reveal a sordid past. Arabella offers Rory a vial of invisibility that Ingefaer can use to escape...maybe. Rory takes the vial and gets it to Ingefaer. He sets up a distraction and Ingefaer makes her escape, buck naked. But instead of fleeing the city, Ingefaer wants to solve the case. The duo shave their heads and paints themselves green. They work the clues while in disguise and solve the case.
