  • 23 | The Rise of Masculine Women: What Feminism Forgot About Femininity
    2025/01/22

In this thought-provoking episode of My Mama Summer, we explore the intricate dynamics of modern feminism and its unexpected impact on women, men, and society as a whole. We discuss:

    * How modern feminism has shifted focus, glorifying masculine traits while diminishing the essence of true femininity.

    * The unintended consequences of rejecting traditional gender roles, family structures, and feminine archetypes.

    * Why embodying the feminine is about embracing softness, humility, and intuitive flow—not victimhood or rebellion.

    * The dangerous narratives of "us vs. them" and how they divide men and women, undermining connection and polarity.

    * The power of the feminine to heal, nurture, and influence in ways that the modern feminist movement often overlooks.

This episode invites you to reflect on what it truly means to embody the feminine and how doing so can bring balance, strength, and transformation to your life and relationships.

Whether you're a mother, partner, or woman reconnecting with your inner wisdom, this episode will inspire you to reclaim the powerful essence of the feminine archetype.

Warning: This podcast is not a highlight reel. (And I think that's a refreshing thing in a world of superficiality and false pretences.)

Go behind the scenes of my life as I build an online business, raise a family with intention, live abroad in a new country, and unpack trauma, programming, and reparent myself openly in the public realm.

In every episode, you’ll get insights into the depth of what it really takes to build a business, whilst being a present mama, living a life outside the box, and doing the work it takes to be who we’re meant to be.

My Mama Summer is my journey to becoming whole.

  • 22 | Demise Of The Internal Compass: Reclaiming Inner Wisdom in a World of External Noise
    2025/01/15
In a world buzzing with notifications, hustle culture, and endless distractions, have we lost our ability to truly listen to ourselves? In this episode of My Mama Summer, I dive deep into how the digital era and modern life have disrupted our connection to our internal compass, leaving us reliant on external inputs for guidance, validation, and fulfilment. From the ever-present pull of smartphones to the societal norm of looking to therapists, gurus, and even apps for answers, I unpack how we’ve normalised disconnection and the toll this takes on our mental health, relationships, and ability to simply be. Drawing on research, personal insights, and a touch of humour, I reflect on the cultural shifts that have led to this collective burnout and explore how we might reclaim our intuition. We’ll discuss the impact of device addiction on both adults and children, how it rewires our brains and habits, and the ripple effect of passing these tendencies on to the next generation. I share my own journey of stepping into my "Simplicity Era," focusing on slow living, minimising external noise, and embracing the rhythm and stillness that modern life has all but erased.Whether you’re overwhelmed by the pace of life, curious about finding your way back to your inner compass, or simply ready to say goodbye to endless scrolling, this episode offers relatable insights and practical inspiration for a slower, more intentional way of being. Will you join me in reclaiming stillness and rewriting the story of how we live, work, and connect? To read this episode instead, click here.Warning: This podcast is not a highlight reel. • Season 2 | Trailer
    2025/01/10
Welcome back to Season Two of My Mama Summer. What a blessing it is to be spending this time with you and to have you spending your time with me. That's something I truly appreciate because time is the number one gift we all have. I always encourage anyone I meet to use it wisely. And if you think spending your time wisely means listening to this podcast, I want to give you a big shout out and let you know how much I appreciate you being here. So in the second season of My Mama Summer, we're going to continue to document my life. I'm going to bring more interviewees on in the topics and the areas of life that I am exploring and expanding in.My birthday is the 2nd of January. And so for me, a Gregorian new year is a new year for me. I've just moved into my, dare I say it, 40th year here on planet earth. And I feel a shift. That shift for me is towards simplicity. And this has been coming for a long time. I've mentioned over and over and over again on this podcast and in my articles at mymamasummer.com that I have felt overwhelmed and burnt out and disillusioned by the frantic pace of life. And this is the year that all changes for me. How do I know that? Because I am taking charge of that. I am heavily minimising social media in my life this year. I will be having someone take over my social media so that I don't need to be there. I may still have a presence, but I will also have a filter. And that filter is what is really important to me. I've had too many inputs coming into my world for so long, and I've been so busy that I haven't known how to stop them. Like many people, the only way I've known how to stop them is to ignore them, but they still keep coming. And this means that that moves me further into feeling like I'm behind, feeling like I'm a bad person, because not everyone views apps and tools the way I do.Email for me is a little bit more like snail mail. I might take a week to get back to you. If you WhatsApp me, I'll try and get back to you, but it might take me a few days. Facebook and Instagram messages, we're talking more of a month. And that's because they're not my priority. My priority is my family, recording this podcast, and writing. That is where my passion lies. So if you're someone who wants to get hold of me quickly, the best place for you to do that is on my Substack, which you can find at mymamasummer.com. Over the last season of this podcast, I’ve built a really beautiful community of humans interested in the same topics that I am, who are experiencing the same challenges as I am. And it's really beautiful to know that you're not alone when you're going through challenges. So, I invite you to join us on Substack because it is a place that feels so different. It's like hanging out with your besties and having real conversation. That's where I'm going to be hanging out this year and beyond. I am done with fragmenting my time. And you'll see this in the episodes that I have coming out. They're all about the deep work, about focusing on the tasks that really matter and making headway on the projects we're passionate about. And so for me, this year, there are three projects that I'm working on. Of course, there's My Mama Summer. There is this podcast and it's accompanying Substack Publication, which I would love for you to subscribe to at mymamasummer.com. There is also my business community, Freedom Hackers. This is where I mentor unconventional parents in how to build a business that gives them freedom. And I've just started another Substack publication called Simplicity Business. So if you're looking to start something new this year that isn't going to complicate your life, that you can fit in either around your current side hustle or around your current job, with a view to it becoming your main role, you're going to want to join me over there as well. The URL is simplicitybusiness.substack.com. And the third project, which I'm so excited to talk about is, drum roll, myself. I have never put myself on the list as a project, but now is my time. Four years after giving birth to my daughter, now is my time to shine. My time to take care of myself. It's my time to revamp how I feel. To look after myself from the inside, to start moving my body. To figure out how I'm supposed to feed myself, and do business and parent my daughter and do all of the things together. And also how to feel good in my skin. This is a big one for me. I'm going to explore that from many angles this year. I've just read a book by a lady that I'm hoping to bring on the podcast. This year for me is about stripping it all back, finding what's really me and leaving the rest. And living with the seasonality and the rhythm for myself that I truly honour and use with my daughter. It's time for me to prioritise myself. And I'm going to share how I'm doing that with you along the way in season two of the podcast. So I thank you for being here and for being interested in what I have to share. It truly means so much...
