  • How to Return to Your First Love: God
    2025/06/20

Today, on Karl and Crew, we recapped Karl’s adultery analogy in relation to the adulterous actions we commit against God. We then talked about the importance of repenting, returning to God, and letting go of the spiritual affairs in our lives. We then turned to the phone lines to hear how our listeners turned from their spiritual affairs and returned to God. We also had Ron and Jody Zappia join the conversation as they shared how, with God, they could salvage their relationship after infidelity. Ron is the Founding and Lead Pastor at Highpoint Church, a multi-site church in the Chicagoland area. He is also a sought-after conference speaker with a heart for evangelism and the local church. • God’s Word Brings Life
    2025/06/16

Today, on Karl and Crew, we discussed the importance of being rooted in the Lord and His Word. We turned to Psalm 1, which compares a child of God to a tree. A child of God is considered a tree planted by the waters, has flourishing leaves, yields fruit in their season, meditates on the word day and night, and their nourishment comes from God. The chapter then speaks about the ungodly and how its tree is weaker, taken by the wind, and will perish because it's not rooted in Him. We turned to the phone lines to hear from our listeners about the scriptures they hold onto. We also had Greg Dempter join us to talk about the disruptive emotions leaders can feel during chaos and busyness, and how inner peace comes only from God through all that noise. Greg Dempster is the Founder and Director of ChristLife Ministries, an organization that transforms Christian leaders from various denominational backgrounds. He has also been a senior leader, elder, and ministry director. We also had Asheritah CiuCiu join us to discuss the importance of intimacy with the Lord during quiet time. Asheritah is a national speaker, bestselling author, and founder of One Thing Alone Ministries, an online ministry that helps overwhelmed women find joy in Jesus. She also has a YouTube page where she has posted a video called “Delighting in Jesus: Guided Prayers and Bible Study Tips.” You can hear the highlights of today’s program on the Karl and Crew Showcast.

  • The Greatest Father of All, a Boom Crew Testimony, and Anne Graham Lotz
    2025/06/13

Today, on Karl and Crew, we wrapped up our weekly theme of “Fathers in the Bible” by discussing the greatest father of all, God. We turned to Luke 15:11-24 to analyze the parable of the Prodigal Son, as it relates to the rejoice and warm embrace our Heavenly Father has waiting for us whenever we come to Him. Our Heavenly Father wants an intimate and devoted relationship with us all, but we have to cast away the things of the world and submit to Him as the Prodigal son did when returning to his father. We also heard from Anne Graham Lotz, who shared her memorable moments with her Dad, Billy Graham, before his passing. Anne is known for her deep biblical wisdom, as she speaks globally and was called “the best preacher in the family” by her late father. We also had Karl pop in from Burundi, East Africa, to provide us with an update on what’s going on there. Then we heard a testimony from one of the listeners in the Boom Crew, Josiah. You can hear the highlights of today’s program on the Karl and Crew Showcast.

  • Breaking Generational Curses, the importance of Discipleship, and Building a Father-Daughter Connection
    2025/06/12

Today, Karl and Crew continued the weekly theme of “Fathers in the Bible” by discussing how God can break generational curses passed down through families. As followers of Christ, we have a Father who can deliver us from wicked patterns, so long as we turn to Him for guidance. We see this in 2 Kings 21, where we read about King Manasseh, the most wicked king in the Bible. Manasseh chose to do evil in the sight of the Lord, and after his reign, one of his sons, Amon, followed in his footsteps; however, his grandson, Josiah, broke the pattern and sought the Lord throughout his reign as king. We also heard similar stories from our listeners as they called to share how they chose a different path than their family when pursuing the Lord. We then spoke with David Stephens about the importance of discipleship with younger believers. David is a pastor, speaker, and coach with nearly 20 years of experience leading and discipling young adults. He has also authored the book “Getting It Together: 10 Lessons to Help Young Adults Live an Insanely Fruitful Life.” Dr. Michelle Watson Canfield also joined us to discuss the importance of a Father-Daughter relationship. Dr. Canfield is a licensed professional counselor, national speaker, and author. She is also the founder of The Abba Project, a nine-month group forum for dads whose daughters are in their teens and 20s. You can hear the highlights of today’s program on the Karl and Crew Showcast.
