    July 6, 2025 ~ Warren Police Commissioner Eric Hawkins joins Michigan Voices to talk about the Warren Police Department's partnership with the city of Warren, the Macomb County Prosecutor’s Office, Wayne State University, a 37th District Court judge, and the nonprofit Turning Point Macomb in launching a first-of-its-kind domestic violence prevention program. The initiative, called Operation Cycle Break, will take their domestic violence approach from reactive to proactive. Then, the CEO of Meijer Gardens, Charles Burke, joins the show to discuss Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park, which is a 158-acre botanical garden, outdoor sculpture park, and art museum located in Grand Rapids. It features a stunning collection of over three hundred sculptures created by renowned artists worldwide. The gardens include a tropical conservatory, an 8-acre Japanese garden, and a series of outdoor gardens and nature trails.

The program includes high-profile entrepreneur guest speakers, marketing and budgeting sessions, and concludes with an EPIC lemonade stand with profits split among the kids. Kidz Kingdom founder and CEO Danielle North joins Michigan Voices. Mama’s Mission is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing food, hygiene items, household essentials, and clothing to families in need across Sanilac County. What started out of a home has now grown into a full pantry partnership with a local church, serving dozens of families each week. Founder and Director Tayrn Strausser joins Michigan Voices to talk about her work.
