When compiling the story of Markus Schulz's career, his connection with the people of Los Angeles, and particularly the legendary venue of Avalon in Hollywood, would require a book-long chapter. A venue in which his dedication to the open to close performance of the DJ art excels, he returned on Saturday February 1 for his latest adventure. A city and area reeling from the devastation caused by forest fires, his goal for the night carried an extra emotion as a result, aiming to provide those affected with a small sense of escape, at least for a little while.

This set forms part of Markus' monthly Global DJ Broadcast World Tour series - providing a snapshot of his sounds in the liveset environment; spread across famed clubs and festivals around the globe. The next will take him to Soundcheck in Washington DC, where he will play on Valentine's Night, Friday February 14.

Back on dry land after the annual Groove Cruise, Markus Schulz's preparations turn to another signature open to close solo set experience at the legendary Avalon in Los Angeles this Saturday night. Part of those preparations involved his latest Global DJ Broadcast offering, which includes new music from Michael Cassette, PARAFRAM, ALAT, Kaiserdisco, Mike EFEX and more. In the second hour, he is joined by KhoMha for the guestmix, as he prepares to release his new single Tanha on Coldharbour from Friday.

Fans in Edmonton can also see Markus perform live at the Temple Ballroom this Friday night, before his return to Avalon on Saturday night into Sunday morning; which will be recorded and the highlights featured on the World Tour for you next week.

The annual Groove Cruise exploration from Miami to the Caribbean has arrived, and Markus Schulz will be heavily involved with a selection of sets throughout the duration. In a season of surprises, the pivotal influence of the wonders of radio on Markus Schulz isn't one of them. The theater of the mind, the friend who is always there no matter what time of day or night. One particular aspect of radio which deeply resonates with Markus to this day is the period between Christmas and New Year, where classics and championed tracks dominated the airwaves.

A few years after establishing his weekly Global DJ Broadcast radio show, a new tradition was born; where he would honor and cherish those special melodies and words through the Classics Showcase. This one in particular is extra special, as it marks the milestone 20th edition; meaning that there are now some 40 hours of Global DJ Broadcast Classics Showcase episodes created with the special one to one connection towards the listener in mind.
