  • Helping Teens Through Struggles with Lizzie McCarron of The Center for Families
    2021/06/08

It’s hard being a parent - and saying that is most definitely an understatement.  It’s also really hard being a teenager - especially will all of the challenges they have faced over the past year with the pandemic.  In Malvern, tucked away beside the Chester Valley Trail, we have a truly wonderful place that exists to support teens who are feeling overwhelmed with emotional, mental and behavioral struggles.  The Center for Families runs a day treatment program for teens, that is open year round.  They work with their families to create a safe, nurturing and integrated approach that restores healthy, authentic connection to teens’ lives.  Today I’m talking with Lizzie McCarron, the director at Center for Families about what parents can do when their child is struggling and how the Center works with teens and families to bring everyone back to a place of healing.

  • Fundraising Through Fitness with Noreen Geibel of TAG
    2021/05/18

17 years ago, after a life changing check up at the pediatrician for her 5 month old son, Noreen Geibel and her family’s life turned down a new path.  Noreen’s son was diagnosed with a rare birth defect and her family soon learned how difficult it can be to secure the therapies and equipment that help people with disabilities.  4 years ago Noreen decided to start a charity, named TAG, after her son, Thomas, in which she could improve the quality of life for children and their families by gifting equipment vital to their participation in activities of daily living.  Today Noreen is talking with me about why she started TAG and how their mission is helping people in our community. I’m Emily Brunner, your host of Main Line Makers, and I’m so excited to share my conversation with Noreen Geibel here with you today!

To contact Noreen about helping or needs please email: ngeibel76@gmail.com

  • Painting Murals with Artist Amy Terlecki
    2021/05/04

Local artist, Amy Terlecki found herself exploring a whole new way of painting and creating after she became a mother.  Her years in art school spent woking on technique eventually led her to place where she could let herself experiment with her art in abstract ways.  This year Amy was commissioned by the Tredyffrin Library to create a mural for their donor wall.  Amy has been busy designing, building and painting the mural and she’s joining me today to talk about what inspires her and the logistics of how she creates art in such a large format.
