There are, perhaps, a great many kinds of sounds in the world, and none is without meaning.

Music is more than mere entertainment. The type of music you listen to can shape how you perceive the world. Sometimes, the effects are so subtle you don’t even notice them. For instance, your heartbeat changes to mimic the music that you listen to.

Ever had a song stuck in your head? That “earworm” or "musical itch" occurs when you listen to a song repeatedly—your brain prioritizes the sound, forcing your mind to loop it. Music even triggers the release of dopamine, the "pleasure chemical." This explains why music can become addictive. Music controls you.

Never think, “Oh, it’s just a song.” Every sound has meaning and produces an effect on your body, mind, and spirit. Lyrics are declarations you make as you sing. Furthermore, sounds summon spirits.

Evaluate the music you listen to. To whose control are you submitting—God's or the devil's? The Bible tells us to submit our bodily members to God. Your ears and your hearing belong to Him. So, choose music that God’s ears want to listen to.

PROPHETIC DECLARATION

I close every access point the enemy gained through my ear gate. I break every chain the devil has used to bind me through ungodly music. I consecrate my ears, hearing and listening to Him. I’m free in Jesus’ Name! Amen.
