In today's message Pastor Russ talks about how sometimes in life, because of our circumstances, it is easier to hide behind a curtain, or put on a mask pretending to be someone we are not. However, the apostle Paul, in the 5th Chapter of his letter to the Romans, encourages us to live into the heart, courage, and mind of Christ as gifted by the Holy Spirit and be everything God intends for us to be. In doing so, we will find there is no better place than home.

In Luke's Gospel, Jesus is about to depart and return to God. He invites his followers to "open their minds" to receiving the power from on high. As the Cup of Freedom series concludes, discover what it is that God wants to fill our cups with. • Rise Again

In the midst of life’s turmoil, the writer of the 116th psalm invites us to raise the cup of freedom and call upon the Lord. In both the 23rd psalm and Luke’s story about the apostle Peter raising Tabitha from the dead (Acts 9:36-42) there is a sense of revival and restoration in what God is doing for us during dark and dreary times. In this podcast, Pastor Russ will remind us to listen for the voice of God inviting us to Rise Again when life tends to get us down.

  • When God Laughs
    2025/04/27

This week Russ is out exploring so DeAnne Heersche filled the void today: God has a sense of humor that he uses to communicate with us, mostly to teach us humility and to focus on our humanity. Jesus began his ministry with humor, as prophesied in the Old Testament. We encounter God's sense of humor through our interactions with other people, with God giving us signs - literally as bumper stickers or other signs, or through songs that play at opportune times. Mostly God demonstrates his humor through our experiences when things don't go as planned and he teaches us that he is with us, or that maybe we didn't act as we should have. Learn to listen to God's humorous communications to grow closer to him.

In the 24th chapter of Luke's Gospel, Luke shares the story of frightened and grieving women making their way to the tomb on that very first Easter morning only to discover it is empty, and two men in "dazzling clothing" telling them to "remember." And remember they did!
