The Chargers offense has been hard to watch, but those days are over as superstar quarterback Justin Herbert is already back at practice after suffering a Plantar Fascia injury. He was working in a limited capacity but he reportedly hasn't skipped a beat completing 11/12 of his passes in his first day back. Dan and David discuss Herbert's glorious return and Buy and Sell the Chargers biggest storylines and overreactions including the team still needing a new backup quarterback. WR Simi Fehoko has been making a a strong push for a roster spot with big plays in the preseason, but can he make the team over Brenden Rice? Jim Harbaugh was glowing in his praise of Fehoko and unless the Chargers keep 7 receivers, Rice could be in trouble. Saturday felt like Easton Stick's last chance to make his case to be the Chargers backup quarterback, and unfortunately he wasn't good enough. Stick for most of the game looked better than his performance last week, but a goal line fumble and a bad red zone interception ruined a potential bounce back game. Dan and David analyze the Chargers game against the Rams including the improvements made by WR Quentin Johnston. Although you can't see it in the box score, Johnston seems like he's made a year two leap. Saturday was also somewhat of a breakout game for rookie RB Kimani Vidal who showed quickly why he is going to make the team. Rookie Joe Alt also had a just about flawless performance. On defense it was DB Deane Leonard who stole the show balling out and grabbing the Chargers first interception of the preseason.

Easton Stick was again ineffective for the Chargers at QB. The offense was a little bit more dynamic and the running game show us a little more with a nice performance from Kimani Vidal 11 carries for 49 yards. Luis Perez payed the 2nd half at QB and was still clearly uncomfortable with the offense but ok at times going 13/20. On Defense Tarheeb Still had a nice game with 5 tackles and 1 pass defense, Deane Leonard stood out as well logging 2 tackles and 3 pass defenses. Chargers again didnt reach the endzone losing to the Rams 13-9.
