  • Money, work & traditional gender roles - Am I Equal? a miniseries with Laura Henshaw
    2025/06/10

‘Am I Equal’ is a three-part KICPOD miniseries exploring the push to return to traditional gender roles, the manosphere and the real life impact this is having on us, our relationships and on society.

In this episode we explore the unintended consequences that can result from traditional gender roles.

First - Laura speaks with financial advisor Jessica Brady about money in relationships: what can happen when one partner is the breadwinner and the other partner stays home? What can happen if their relationship breaks down? What are the conversations couples need to be having around money? What should you know before taking time out of the workforce?

Next - Laura speaks with sociologist Leah Ruppanner about work: what is the difference between a job and career? Why is a career important outside of just the pay cheque? How can people feel empowered to return to work? What if your partner doesn’t want their children raised by other people?

Episode three of ‘Am I Equal’ will be in your feed tomorrow.
