Joshua 13 & 24 - The Humility to Finish Well | ryan peterson

We are finishing up our time in the book of Joshua. Reading the story of Joshua has allowed us time to seek the Lord and hear the Word from our Father that He's spoken over our lives. You have a Joshua call, an assignment, a mantle to pick up for your city just as he did for Israel. Although we are finishing the book of Joshua, this is only the beginning of our City Renewal focus: dedicating our lives to serve others. In the Old Testament, rest follows conflict; but in the New Testament era, we fight from a place of rest. Because of the victory that Jesus has already accomplished for us, we are empowered to fight to retain what is rightfully ours. The danger in living in such abundance, having been given all things that pertain to life and godliness, we might be so enamored with the gifts, blessings, privilege, favor and security that we forget the One who authored all of it. Coming back to abide in God's Presence, in the Word, is the place we live. Let's end like Joshua, making a decision to follow God, not His gifts.

Fill the city with Jesus. This is the vision not just for our church, but for our people.
The city is not just a physical location, but a collection of our family members, friends, co-workers, and acquaintances. How can you bring Jesus to your city?
