James Edward Harden Jr. was born on August 26, 1989, in Los Angeles, California. Growing up in the Compton neighborhood, Harden developed a passion for basketball at an early age. He attended Artesia High School in Lakewood, California, where he led his team to two state championships. His impressive performance earned him recognition as a McDonald's All-American in 2007. College Career Harden continued his basketball journey at Arizona State University, where he played for the Sun Devils.
