Those of us who have supported Donald Trump since 2015 need no lecture that Trump is abandoning his America First base when he stands by our nation’s greatest ally. It’s not we, Trump, or America who have loyalty problems. We never called Donald Trump “demonic” or said we “hated him passionately.”
Neither Israel nor America is starting a war with Iran—Iran has been at war with both for 46 years. Today’s Iran announced itself to the world by taking 52 Americans hostage for 444 days, then slaughtering 17 Americans in Beirut and another 241 Americans there six months later.
Then there was the capture, torture, and killing of William Buckley; the hijacking of Flight 847 and public execution of Bobby Stethem; the 19 Americans killed in Khobar; the attempted assassination of Donald Trump; and more. Truth in advertising has no greater model than the chant “Death to America.” Now contemplate that country with nuclear weapons. Ignoring that and abandoning an ally equally targeted by Iran is the opposite of America First. It could mean America dead.
