Scripture Verse:
Exodus 34:28 (NKJV)
“So he was there with the Lord forty days and forty nights; he neither ate bread nor drank water. And He wrote on the tablets the words of the covenant, the Ten Commandments.”
Devotional:
The number 40 carries weight in Scripture. For 40 days, the rain fell during the flood as God cleansed the earth (Genesis 7:12). Moses spent 40 days on Mount Sinai receiving God's law (Exodus 34:28). Elijah walked 40 days to Horeb, the mountain of God (1 Kings 19:8). Jesus fasted for 40 days in the wilderness as He prepared for His public ministry (Matthew 4:2). And after His resurrection, Jesus spent 40 days appearing to His disciples and speaking about the Kingdom of God (Acts 1:3).
These 40-day moments were not random—they were sacred seasons of preparation, transformation, revelation, and renewal.
Over the past 40 days, we too have entered into a sacred space of beholding the wonder of God. We've explored His beauty in creation, His power in salvation, His nearness in suffering, and His glory in every area of life. Each day has been an invitation to slow down, look up, and live in awe.
This final day is not an ending, but a beginning. Beholding is not a one-time experience—it’s a lifestyle. Let this journey spark a deeper hunger in you to know God, to see Him in all things, and to live with eyes wide open to His wonder.
Prayers:
Prayer of Thanksgiving for the Journey:
“Lord, thank You for these 40 days of wonder. Thank You for revealing Yourself in powerful and personal ways. I am amazed by Your presence, Your faithfulness, and Your beauty. Let the seeds You’ve planted grow into lasting transformation. Amen.”
Prayer for a Lifelong Vision of God’s Wonder:
“Father, don’t let my beholding stop here. Teach me to keep my eyes on You every day of my life. May wonder never grow old, and may my heart never stop praising You. Let me walk in daily awe of who You are. Amen.”
