In fact DJ has been struggling through the guardianship issue for more than a year this time, and is still working through it. They will be talking about how to live safe with "DD" issues by sharing their life experience, and how they survived to became leaders in their comunity. They will also talk about groups they are part of, that help people with special needs, and how others can can get involved. Update on the organization People First, what that means and an event coming in Washington State. See www.peoplefirstofwashington.org or Nationally at www.peoplefirst.org if you want to see if there's an organization in your area, or perhaps get information to start one. Have a safe, fun July 4th. As we fought for Independence as a Nation, we fight for the same for individuals with disability. We each play a huge part of that process in our own stories.
