Finding a therapist can be difficult. There is jargon to understand and so many steps to follow. I can help! Not only do i personally engage in therapy, I also help people find therapy and psychiatry providers as my job. When I meet people going through a tough mental health time their primary complaint for getting help is that they don't know where to start or that finding the right therapist is too hard. While I cant make you have the perfect therapist match I can help you learn how to give yourself a better shot.
Steps:
Understand the main reasons you want or need to go to therapy
Think about what you want in a provider (list of things to consider provided)
Start looking (ideas to find providers more easily provided) and schedule
Meet with the provider and feel it out
Make a plan of what to focus on and talk through expectations with therapist
Make sure to come back and reassess progress and goals
