Lina and I are in Choachí, Cundinamarca this week, talking about the experience we had looking for property to buy in Colombia. My idea was to buy a piece of cheap land and build a house on it, which has been an adventure a year and a half in the making so far. Nothing is built yet, but we’re getting close to breaking ground.
We also talk about the Spanish cargo/treasure ship, the galeón San José, sunk in 1708 by British pirates, off the coast of Cartagena. Colombia, other South American countries, indigenous groups, American treasure hunters, and even the Spanish government are getting involved.
This week on the podcast:
1:12 - Buying land in Colombia
39:55 - San José galleon (sunken Spanish treasure ship)
