Do you know how much more likely there is to suffer a car accident? In Spain, one out of every 356,357 journeys ends in an accident; and according to the World Health Organization, 3,500 people die every day in traffic accidents.
These data are not trivial. This low accident rate is reached thanks to a series of steps that are followed to the millimeter when a takeoff is planned: for the aircraft engine to start up, a series of basic rules must be respected.
The team of technicians, pilots and crew members also carry out an important follow-up of all kinds of procedures and preventive measures in the event of an incident.
In total, the planes go through several inspections: one daily before the first flight, another that takes place every 100 hours of being in the air, another every 600 hours, a subsequent one every 18 months and the so-called 'Big Stop', every five years or its equivalent, 30,000 flight hours...
