At 25 years old, Guy Imbert’s life changed forever after a motorbike accident led to years of pain and, eventually, the decision to amputate his left leg.

This is his story of life after amputation, overcoming trauma, and finding purpose through cycling.

Far from slowing him down, the amputation gave Guy a renewed sense of purpose.

Today, he’s training for The Munga, one of the longest and toughest cycling races in Africa – over 1,100 km from Bloemfontein to Wellington in just 5 days.

In this inspiring conversation, Guy shares his journey from growing up in Kenya to adapting to a prosthetic leg,

the lessons cycling has taught him, and why life after trauma can be even more fulfilling.

We discuss:

-Why pain led him to make the bold choice of amputation

-How to break big goals into manageable milestones (and why this works in life too)

-Why training is more powerful than race day itself

-The importance of health, discipline, and sticking to promises we make to ourselves

-How difficult challenges give life meaning

-The mindset shifts that can help you overcome any hurdle life throws your way Guy’s story is proof that with the right mindset, you can turn your greatest setbacks into your greatest strengths.
