  • Grey Zone: Middle East's Next Big War? Iran-Backed Houthis Likely To Face Joint U.S. & Yemeni Govt Blitz | Hindustan Times Podcast
    2025/04/17

Is Yemen on the brink of a new war? The world has been focused on the Red Sea attacks and U.S. airstrikes, but beneath the headlines, a massive ground offensive is quietly taking shape — one that could redefine the Yemeni civil war. The internationally recognised Yemeni government is reportedly assembling 80,000 troops in a bid to retake Hodeidah Port from the Iran-backed Houthis.

But this isn’t just a local military move — there are signs that the U.S., along with private American security contractors and the UAE, might be helping plan the operation. What would this mean for the Houthis, for Iran’s influence in the region, and for millions of Yemenis already facing one of the world’s worst humanitarian crises? Could this be the final push in Yemen’s long-running conflict — or the start of something much worse?

In this episode, Ananya Dutta breaks down the strategy, the stakes, and the global shadow war behind the 'next war' in Yemen."Watch the full episode on YouTube-https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0TyZRRZVT-E

  • Point Blank: After Losing In Maldives & Sri Lanka, China Using Bangladesh Against India? Delhi Gameplan Explained | Hindustan Times Podcast
    2025/04/14

In this episode of Point Blank, Hindustan Times' Executive Editor decodes how India has reacted to Bangladesh interim government chief Muhammad Yunus’ controversial remarks leveraging the isolation of India’s landlocked northeastern states while seeking Chinese investments.

Notably, India has ended a nearly five-year-old arrangement for the transhipment of Bangladeshi export cargo to third countries via Indian airports and ports against the backdrop of increasingly strained relations between the two countries. The External Affairs Ministry on April 9 cited congestion at Indian airports and ports as the reason for the move. “This was a facility that was extended to Bangladesh in 2020.

The trans-shipment facility extended to Bangladesh had, over a period of time, resulted in significant congestion at our airports and ports,” external affairs ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal told a weekly media briefing.

  • Point Blank: Tahawwur Rana Extradition: 26/11 Secrets To Be Exposed, India To Destroy Pak's Hidden Terror Web? Hindustan Times Podcast
    2025/04/12

Tahawwur Rana, a co-conspirator in the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks, is now in NIA custody in India for questioning about his involvement in the attacks.

The 2008 terror attacks in Mumbai led to the deaths of 166 people, including six Americans. Rana was flown to India in a special plane after the U.S. Supreme Court cleared Tahawwur Rana's extradition to India on Apr 9.

Rana's legal challenge failed after the court rejected his emergency petition on April 7.

U.S. Court’s decision marked a milestone in India’s quest for justice in the 26/11 attacks. Notably, only one 26/11 attacker, Ajmal Kasab, has been prosecuted so far in the case. Tahawwur Rana will be the first major co-conspirator to face trial in India.

In this episode of Point Blank, Hindustan Times' Executive Editor will decode what the development means for India and how Rana could now expose Pakistan's direct involvement in the gruesome terror attack.
