あらすじ・解説
In "Henny-penny," a chicken mistakenly believes the sky is falling after being hit by corn and embarks on a panicked journey to inform the king. Along the way, she accumulates a following of other birds (Cocky-locky, Ducky-daddles, Goosey-poosey, Turkey-lurkey) who join her without question. Their naive group is then intercepted by the cunning Foxy-woxy, who tricks them into taking a supposed shortcut, leading them instead into his den where he eats them one by one, until only Henny-penny escapes due to a last-minute warning. This folktale serves as a cautionary lesson about the dangers of hysteria, blindly following others, and the importance of critical thinking when faced with alarming information or trusting strangers.
