Sim racing often ignites the spark for many at a young age, but there's nothing like owning a car in the real world to get you started on your journey.  Everyone has to start at the same place. The longer you wait, the longer it will take to get up to speed with everyone else. Simply owning a car will increase your motivation to learn, which will lead to a deeper understanding of many topics and comes with the added benefit of knowledge that transfers to the future cars you'll own down the road.
