このコンテンツについて
In the final 2025 episode of Husker Heat, the host recapped an unforgettable season for Nebraska softball, fresh off a road trip to Knoxville for the Super Regional. Nebraska narrowly missed advancing, losing two close games to Tennessee after an opening win. Jordy Bahl pitched all 21 innings and continued to prove she’s among the nation’s elite. The Huskers finished 43–15 overall, 17–5 in the Big Ten, and ranked in the top 20 nationally across all major polls. They also smashed numerous school records—including team batting average (.356), home runs (107), slugging percentage (.648), and OPS (1.086). Jordy Bahl hit .475 and set a program record with 23 home runs.
Looking to 2026, the team returns most starters, including an elite infield and outfield core. Key roster losses include Ava Bredwell and Abby Squire. The main holes to address are catcher and backup pitching. Meanwhile, Nebraska baseball surged late, winning the Big Ten Tournament and advancing to the Chapel Hill Regional. The show also featured humorous moments, fan banter, and deep appreciation for Jordy Bahl’s leadership both on and off the field. As the episode closed, the hosts looked ahead to continuing their podcast journey—with hopes of hosting a regional in front of packed home crowds next season.
Additionally, one of our baseball beat guys, Aaron, will join us to talk about the men’s 2nd straight B1G tourney victory & where they’re headed next.
