What do we think of when we consider God’s glory? His creation? His power? While these things are true, perhaps the greatest demonstration of his glory is found in Christ’s sacrifice on the cross! How can this be so and what does it mean to us?

The glory of God is so deep and profound, and is ultimately found in the cross of Christ.

In part, God’s glory can be seen in creation. However, sin has blurred the true beauty of the glory of God. It is only on the cross of Christ that glory becomes unblurred and we see it fully shining and unmissable.

It’s easy for us to assume that God is like a strict judge who enjoys judging the guilty. The truth revealed in Scripture is quite the opposite. Though God does afflict, he’s reluctant to do so. The heart of God delights to show mercy, even to the guilty.

The bible describes times when God does afflict his people. This talk delves into Lamentations to answer the question, how does God feel about affliction?

This week we look at how God is described as a ‘Father of compassion’ by the apostle Paul, understanding what this really means will lead us into a much deeper relationship with God and set us free from fear and into a place of peace and joy.
