  • Jennifer's Body (2009)
    2025/04/15

This week we review cult horror-comedy classic, Jennifer's Body! Is 16 years long enough to be a cult classic? After missing this movie when it came out, we heard it went through a bit of a cultural renaissance the past few years so we thought we should give it a watch and see for ourselves.

Megan Fox stars as Jennifer Check, a high school student who becomes possessed by a demon and begins hunting the local boys at her school. It is up to her best friend Needy, played by Amanda Seyfried, to put a stop to the bloodshed and save her town!

  • Blade (1998)
    2025/03/17

The GBGB's are donning their black leather and katanas this week for a review of BLADE (1998). This pre-MCU Marvel adaptation stars Wesley Snipes as BLADE, a sword-wielding half-vampire on a mission to avenge the death of his mother and rid the world of vampires. But, *record scratch* it turns out the vampires also want to capture BLADE to use his special half-vampire blood for a ritual to awaken their ancient vampire god and eradicate humans? Also there's techno and Kris Kristofferson?

  • Persona (1966)
    2025/03/04

Hej gott folk! Det var ett tag sedean men, de goa pojkarna blev intetsagande ha annu ett bra avsnitt till dig. The GBGBs are back with a very chill lowkey easy review of Swedish director Ingmar Bergman's 1966 avant-garde magnus opus, "Persona". This movie has been referred to as the "Mount Everest of cinematic analysis", so we figured after 120 episodes, the GBGBs are perfectly equipped to take this on! (We were sorely mistaken).

    2025/02/11

It's another Ryan and Denali bonus joint this week and we're watching Friday the 13th Part 6: Jason Lives! After years of lobbying, Ryan finally got his wish to review one of the Jason movies on the podcast. Denali has never seen a Friday the 13th movie so this is going to go really well I'm sure.

Also discussed: Summer camps, Jason's sense of humor, and the incredible Alice Cooper end credits song for this movie.

We're back with another Ryan/Denali Bonus review.... This time with Terry Gilliam's TIME BANDITS (1981)! Forget what we've said before, THIS movie is an absolute fever dream. Nothing makes sense, nothing seems to matter, and we're not entirely sure if this is even a movie.

Also discussed: Time travel and giving King Arthur a DVD box set of Lost

  • Twister (1996)
    2025/01/28

Hop in the Twister-Wagon, we're going STORM CHASING! The GBGBs review the 90's disaster movie classic, Twister (1996) starring Bill Paxton and Helen Hunt. You guys know that Glen Powell movie called Twisters? Well this is basically like a prequel where you find out why the Tornado is so mad.

This movie has everything: Twisters (as advertised), ROMANCE, flying cows (or maybe just the same one over and over), and an original song by Sammy Hagar-era Van Halen.

Also discussed: Ryan's brave close encounter with a tornado, how to stop a tornado, and whether or not Bill Paxton's character's pants should have blown off at the end.

  • Bonus: Signs (2002)
    2025/01/07

WE'RE BACK. Sort of..... Jace was out of town so Ryan and Denali decided to "swing away" into a review of SIGNS (2002). We believe this decision will bring peace and unity to 2/3rds of the GBGBs brand as this movie brings aliens for Ryan and M Night Shyamalan for Denali. This was the movie that brought crop circles back into the monoculture while scarring an entire generation of children forever with a simple camcorder birthday party scene.

Ryan and Denali also get into it re UFOs, the mindset of the Signs aliens, and the role of earnest-ness in storytelling.
